I've spent hours and hours on this mission, but I can't complete it. Anyone have a good tip I could try?

On the plan view of your ship you will see coloured dots representing controllable armament locations - click on the dots which relate to the position of the AA guns on your 3D ship - you should now have control of an AA gun 
CLICK ON NEAREST ,TARGET AND CLICK ON THE AA GUN(S) AND CLICK " FIRE", BUT WHEN IT IS DESTROYED , DO SAME FAST TO NEXT TARGET - OR YOU CAN TRY JUST CLICKING ON THE TARGET AND SAYING ENGAGE TARGET .

The CAPS on my postings don't mean I am " Flaming" or " Shouting" , by the way , I just occasionaly haopen to use them !

The problem with caps is it can seem like somebody is shouting at you.

Even with all the tips, I still cannot get the blasted mission done!

It's not an easy one . Most require persistence .
You can try a few things .
Ordering some convoy to scatter is one .
Directing the 2 corvettes to attack nearest enemy .
Dodge torpedoes by altering course ,and reversing a few times .
Use external view as well frequently.
As soon as it begins try setting torpedoes for zero , they sometimes can hit a few . and rightaway let deck guns defend too, after they get nearer use ' engage target ' or direct all AA fire at one target .( another when hit ) but if the planes start approaching you might have to bring a few down ( engage all fire at them - it's faster ! )
Another thing I have done is let all the convoy attack one target in turn too .
No fixed way to do it , just whatever you find works ..
