I dont know how to fire any of my ships guns or how to fire a torpedo with the sub......
Try pressing F1, F2 or F3 for different instructions, command, etc. You'll find if you look at the hud controls, some of them begin to make sense just by looking.

First, the guns. On your tactical display ( bottom right), click on the "range" buttons until you see a red dot. Right click on the red dot. Now click on one of the gun icons on the hud next to the fire button. This assigns the gunner on that gun to the ship you selected. Click the fire button and the gunner will commence firing as soon as the enemy ship you have selected is in range.
How does that work?
Actually EAST meant "left click on the red dot"
You can also click on your BIG TAC icon in the tactical screen (lower right corner) and then enable auto fire from both deckguns and AA guns.
You can also right click on a gun icon (middle of the hud) to manually fire a type of gun, or right click on one the the guns on the ship schematic (lower left corner) to maunally fire a specific gun.
