Hiyas all.

Well going to keep this as short as poss. After looking over my gear and what I need spell power wise I have had to bite the bullet and leave DV.

To reach Vet requirements as affliction I need 1050 sp, that being a combo of basic(no fel ac buff) spell power and crit%. With affliction being one of the lowest crit% of the Lock talents and going over gear sets I cannot see reaching the Vet level at my present rate. Coupled with Kara now being run on Sat and leaving a near cleared Instance on Tuesdays.

I need 980 basic spell power with 9 to 10% crit rating to hit the 1050 required Veteran. And I have only seen one Lock as affliction reach this. But they were in full T5 with a assortment of PvP/random genric Kara epic and BOJ vendor off hand.

So for now Iam turning my efforts towards PuGs and Arena/Bg for certain items and gems. And move aside for a better equipt Lock seeing this is what DV needs to progress and Iam just not cutting the mustard.

Be safe all I wish you all the best with your progression through to BT and beyond.

Rangorn.

its easly obainable vort the main part of the armour will come from tailor set (i know alot of ppl over look this cause they r other proffessions but seriously the made sets rule enuff to retrain to gt them) then all it takes is a ew heroic items a few enchants and a few badge items to reach the goal. but is your choice in the end we will miss your lock aor

Hiyas Dark.

Iam closing in on the last FSW now, just waiting on CDs and blowing traders gold if I spy decently priced Shadowcloth in AH. Have bought a epic belt pattern which in one way has boosted belt spell power but lost the 22/24 spell power set bonus.

I have been replacing gems with 5+ spell power jobs but Iam still some 280ish off the mark I need. The badge rewards that I have seen for back, neck I have alrdy gotten better. I reckon atm with having to try and farm mats for the legg up grades and still plugging at Scyer Rep for new ring and epic leg patch.

The main off hand combo looking over options are going to come from Arena. With Enchant these two will boost spell power by 170ish which will realy close down the lack of current Sp, coupled with new ring the legs and FSW chest etc I should see this come to completion in 2 mnths. But for now theres no point being in DV. Kara been run on days which I cannot make and not geared enough to run other raids. I may aswell break away now and try to put as much time into getting things done.

If by then DV is still raiding I may reapply, that or I wil be back to leveling if expansion comes out and people hit the fast forward button to the next end game bosses.

Hi Vort,

Understand where you're coming from, and appreciate the fact tht you want to get yourself fully sorted. Some of the stuff you mention people may be able to help with - certainly the epic leg patch for example, we have a lot of tailors; there may also be some other shadowcloth tailors, or if you can farm mats quicker then plenty of other non-shadow-specialist tailors who can also make it.

Regarding Kara, I expect it will still continue to be run, but has removed from DV's formal raiding roster since (a) 95% of DV members are significantly above veteran, and (8-) to make room for the required level of 25-man+ZA raiding which is now DV's focus. It is expected that Kara raids will continue in 2 forms: (i) Runs organised by any of the tribes guilds/members, which may include lesser-geared and alts (ii) occaisional veteran-only fast-badge runs for those who've already run kara 100 times, purely for badges for upgrade. Essentially though, DV have moved on from Kara.

Having just done the tailoring grind for Jelly, I know how much of a pain it can be, but hopefully you can get the kit made and be ready to come back to us soon.

As.

I totally understand where you are coming from babe .. I was lucky to have been given my whitemend set when I first started raiding and hten just had to kit up with the Primal Mooncloth so I can imagine how hard it is from scratch.

If I can help in any way let me know :)

Hi all.

Ty for the offers of Shadowcloth CD, atm Iam busy farming more cloth to turn into dusts to make imbuned netherweave cloth. I blew around 70 of them in on skill ups and my nice new epic belt. When my stocks are back up to strenght I will ask first to make sure the CDs are not needed by people before I send over the mats.

After chatting with the ever all round nice troll aka Lafey, she did suggest changing my spec away from Affliction and go for the raid specc for this expansion which is Distruction. Iam still thinking this option through seeing I had changed away from my old specc of demonic for the sake of being better for raids, which I thought was affliction seeing it comes with longer/stronger DoTs a extra DoT so Iam not losing too much dps from using CoS or CoE whilst raiding.

But the more I read the Lock forums the more I keep seeing distruction as the build for raiding atm. If Dark or RLs could clarify this would be a great help in aiming me in the right direction gear wise.

Now on to a gear question. I think one of the Tribes/DV members has the recipe for the Battlecast Leggings. If so when I get the cloth and primal mights ready could they do the combine pending on Nether??????. Will pay the donation fee of 80g for using their Nether.

Ttfn.

Oh, wouldn't it be a shame to have made almost your full FSW set, and then spec to destruction? I don't agree with destruction being the pve spec. Affliction is very good, especially coupled with destruction. For example 18-20 points in destruction and the rest in affliction, will make your dots powerfull and also your fire-dot and will make your shadowbolts do more then decent damage. With that, you have the benefits of never going oom, will be hard to die for you with drain health and the HoT effect you get from your set bonus. Chushin yesterday rocked the damage meters, so maybe you could take a look at his armory and see what choices he made in gear, spec, gems and enchants.

There's still a lot of improvements of your gear you can make solo, so Im pretty sure once you've done that you will make the veteran threshold without having to get T5 :)
