I am posting this to assist Wop with getting started, even though the process is already posted on TAA and UKAA sites... If anything then this will be an example. If you have input, make a follow up post. We would update the rules in the "official rules" post in THIS thread.. it is a reserved area you will see following this post. We will update those rules based on input.
SNL - Saturday Night League.
Who What When Where and Why
Who: Squad Event - Open to all Squads
What: SNL - Saturday Night League
When: Starts March 31 (target date and normally every Sat Night on a USA Wash DC time schedule)
Where: Central Launch (Game is entered as an event, calendar and clock therefor it is available for view by ALL communities and players)
Rules:
Post official rules on the 'sponsors home site'. In this case the rules are posted at USAAC. This is the official rules which override any rules posted on any other forums. (Do you really want to have to post on every forum out there? NO.. they should come to the sponsors page to read the rules. USAAC webmaster will assist with posting rules so that can be in RSS format. With this process any site, squad or community can pick that RSS up and post on their site also ... with no worry of most current set of rules. One source, one edit source .. boom all done)
Post the Rules at Central Launch. Eventually we can post a summary with a link to the official rules and a link for "Squad Sign-up". I do suspect that we can actual input our RSS link and the rules will display from USAAC site without having to type or post it all in. If not now in the future for sure.
Squads:
Open to all that wish to participate. You can gear the time to help out for UKAA and TAA pilots .. that is a League Managers Call. Squads should not have to post out their pilots. The central-launch should be the 'official' pilot roster. All Squads can register on Central-Launch .. its is their responsibility to make sure their pilots are listed. It is a ready reference to know who is on what squad .. and who is legal. IMHO.

General -
The League operates a policy of one pilot, one squad. This means no 'ringers', no multi squad pilots. Squads that are found to be operating such pilots WILL forfeit any match they have played.
C/O's it is your responsibility to ensure that all pilots in your squad are registered at the TAA site showing the name or names that they fly under for your squad.
Squadrons will enter a private arena. The CO will receive the password in an email sent by the AARA.
Each match will be assigned a referee.
Map boundaries: teams will stay within the boundaries of the map which is 2 squares out from the runways. Any pilot leaving the map will be classed as dead and their team will be docked 1 ratio point accordingly, said pilot must land at base and take off again before being allowed to re enter the match.
Teams are allowed to fly with 6 players max unless both have more (max 10 on KAA). Teams have to be equal in both halfs.
Players that can't fly because their team has too many can sit on the USA runway but must stick to internal comms. The only time spectators are NOT allowed is if a squad decides to fly as US during the match.
The match will be split into 2 halfs, with each half lasting 30 minutes. Both halfs will be played in different arenas.
Matches will start within 10 minutes of the allotted time. Referees can penalise squadrons that cause delays in the match longer than this time.
Teams will be designated home and away with the home team playing SU/GB in the first half, US/GE in the second and vice versa for the away team.
Squadrons may split themselves between their two countries , for example 4 pilots SU and 4 GB or they may choose to play all one side. Players may not change nationality or aircraft model once the game is in progress.
There will be no countdown, and no lining up. When the Referee is ready he/she will call for the CO's to report ready, after which there will be a SCRAMBLE announcement and the game will be on.
Teams must not move from the side of the runway (ie the arena-spawn positions) until the scramble announcement.
Scoring -
There will be a total of 3 league points available for each match, split into 1 point for winning each half and 1 extra point for an winning on overall ratio.
Squadrons win by default (3 points) if they show up for a match at the agreed time, but no member of the other team arrives within 10 minutes of the match start time. If a team does not show up for a match they may at the discretion of the league master be docked 4 leagues points and ratio points equivalent to the points scored by them in the last game they played.
If two teams are equal on league points at the end of the season, the ratio will count.
Behaviour -
Squadrons should not flood the arena comms during the match. Banter between Squadrons is acceptable and encouraged. Spamming is not. Referees will be instructed to penalise any squadron that disrupts the other teams by flooding the comms or refuses to obey their commands.
Runwaying, runway ramming, persistant crashing and escaping by an individual or team will result in that team being penalised. Continued misbehavior after this point may result in forfeiture of the game. In this matter the Referee has the final judgement.
Unsporting behaviour: this league is intended to be fun for all teams playing in it, consequently teams must be seen to be playing the game fairly.
It is not permissible for a squadron to deliberately remain seated on the runway and refuse to take off or to avoid engaging the enemy for prolonged periods of time.
Neither is it permissible for a team to 'quit' a match early because they are losing.
It is at the referees discretion as to whether he/she feels that a squadron have been deliberately unsporting and they can award the game to the opposition. The referees decision on this will be final, supported by a recording of the game to the LM. Any disputes will be handled by the LM as is appropriate.
The Referee must not be rammed, shot, stabbed, run over, mutilated, burned, covered in tar or feathers, beaten, battered, verbally or physically abused, or generally ignored.
Squadrons must cease shooting and land immediately at the end of each half. If a squadron continues killing then they may be penalised a league point.
Squadrons must refrain from verbally taunting other teams. Banter is what the game is all about. Abuse is not. Judgment in this matter will reside in the hands of the Referees.
Grievance / Complaints -
If squadrons have a complaint regarding one of the other teams, or a referee, the CO only will email the 2 Squad League master.
It is advised that at least one member of each team as well as the referee records each game to help clear up any possible disputes. Complaints will not be heeded without this evidence.
Suggestions -
All suggestions may be emailed to the LM. All suggestions will be logged, but may not be implemented until the next season.
Expansion rule for anonymous pilot tags.
C/O's it is your responsibility to ensure that all pilots in your squad are registered at the TAA site showing the name or names that they fly under for your squad. (If your Squad uses match tags i.e.: numbers or letters. A list needs to be submitted to the LM,with pilots registered name and their match tags. That way he can post for referees and they can cross check, make sure we have no multi squading.

Refs will be instructed to handle it this way:
1st time warning ( by Referee)
2nd time pilot that does, is suspended from the next league-match of his/ her squad. (Pilot asked to leave arena by Referee, followed up by Leaguemasters)
3rd time squad is suspended from the next match on their fixtures. (Pilots asked to leave arena by Referee, followed up by Leaguemasters)
Glad to see its strictly run
nothing like a good orginized fight with diciplaned squad.

My Comments at first quick glance:
1) TAA SNL-League rules - Change that right off to USAAC SNL RULES - I will do this.
2) Refs - each squad has at least 1 TARRA or ARRA Ref, make sure you have one of your members at assigned refing duties - I would change this to read Offical Refs and not mention TARRA or ARRA and I'm not sure what the USAAC Refs are part of (This is Tempers Area .. he knows better than I)
3)C/O's it is your responsibility to ensure that all pilots in your squad are registered at the TAA site showing the name or names that they fly under for your squad. - This is incorrect in that the system they need to be registered on is Central-Org .. I'll take care of that.
4)Players that can't fly because their team has too many can sit on the USA runway but must stick to internal comms. The only time spectators are NOT allowed is if a squad decides to fly as US during the match. - I think I might re-think this . .its not like you can use the old observation mode. I would say they can't remain in the arena and have to leave, its the squads responisbility to have a Pilot on call using their own "call method"
5) Matches will start within 10 minutes of the allotted time. Referees can penalise squadrons that cause delays in the match longer than this time. - The thing to do is be sure to address what the penalty will be in "points", don't leave it a grey area.
6) C/O's it is your responsibility to ensure that all pilots in your squad are registered at the TAA site showing the name or names that they fly under for your squad. (If your Squad uses match tags i.e.: numbers or letters. A list needs to be submitted to the LM,with pilots registered name and their match tags. That way he can post for referees and they can cross check, make sure we have no multi squading. - I"m not really sure about all this .. seems like a lot of extra work and checking by refs and LM. First off I'll change the TAA to Central-Launch as that is where they need to be registered, TAA is kinda defuncy since CL system, that is why we all had to register again
The point of squad members flying with a tag that is letters or numbers, is used to 'mask' the pilots real known name. Truth is .. other pilots find out who that is anyway in short order .. its ez to find out .. just use a log option for AA. So this is a lot of extra email for the LM to go thru etc.. for refs to have to access to to validate the 'no ringer' policy.. so I say .. the tag that is registered at CL is the tag the pilot has to use... no masking as this just makes it much ez'er for cheats and ringers. I could be 100% wrong .. just my opionon with my limited knowledge.
One last comment (cuz I"m not sure on this). We say " 2 squad rules will apply" .. well go find 2 squad rules someplace that apply .. I can't find any
OK.. I'm off to work on all this
1) TAA SNL-League rules - Change that right off to USAAC SNL RULES - I will do this.

Since ALL Refs must be registered in the Refs Usergroup at the Central Launch Page, the Refs may as well use the AARA (Air Attack Referees Association) tag. I see no reason for each community to maintain separate lists. We all play the same game, perhaps the Refs coming together as one will help the communities come together as well.
Tbar, will there be a place on the league brackets to list who is assigned to ref the match?
Tbar, will there be a place on the league brackets to list who is assigned to ref the match?
Temper,
OK, understand the Ref Reference now .. will adjust various text to reflect that title.
RE: Fixtures .. place for Ref. Yes, we can do , we would need the input from you as REF leader as to who is assigned to what. I had already anticipated a "ref" column in the table .. if you check the usaac site.. 'action'>>"competition">SNL you can see where this is all tying in together.
To All:
Here is a ruff draft of the SNL Rules as I interpreted them. Keep in mind there was a ton of duplications so I removed duplicates and consolidated. Changes some terms etc .. and as I review .. still see more that I missed and other 'vague' or over worded areas.
http://www.airattack.us/event/rules_snl.html
I'll do more work on this later this weekend ..... meanwhile .. keep up the input as this is antisipated to start in 2 weeks from post date.
