Welcome

Welcome to our humble forums and web presence.

Web Site:

Our "Web Site" IS Tides of War, but we do have our own little speciality niche as well at : http:bss.tidesofwar.net

New Recruits:

If you are here to find out how to join up with the ToW AA Team, simply make a new topic in this forum area expressing your interest and anything else you want us to know. You may post as a quest. As soon as we notice your post we will respond with the information you will need, to quicken the process simply join us on TS and find one of the Admins who can fill you in on the club etc.

Visitors:

If you are just visiting, from another squad, would like to schedule a scrim etc.. just post away :) You might also like to speak with us live on Team Speak

Current Status:

The Squad name officially is Tides of War VMF-214 Black Sheep Squadron or in short ToW:BSS. What we use currently for a 'TAG" in the game of Air Attack is: ToW_Pilot name. Our Squad Size is based on 16-20 pilots.

ToW:BSS is members and registered at UKAA Club and the TAA Club.

ToW AA Member Command Structure

We are NOT into CO's and XO's, bosses and saluting. This is NOT a strict military rule club. ALL members have equal voice .. when they choose to use said voice.

Our command structure is divided into two classifications :

Air Side

When in the air, or in the game and flying with your ToW (or squad) Tag, then you should do the following:

1) Team up with other ToW members and fly as a unit best you know how. Elect a "Flight Leader" or allow the most talented in this area to direct Flight Ops.

2) Rule number one stands at all time unless the arena you are flying within has certain rules applied. For example generally Free For All arena's do not allow 'teaming'. In this case you have to shoot down other ToW members when you fly in this arena. We suggest you always fly TEAMS arena and team up with team members and fly like a real squad. Protect "Da Bro"

3) If you intend to fly 'solo' then be sure to announce that. In this "solo mode" your team members will know you are out on your own. This is not recommended but allowable for "moody" members :")

4) Follow all rules of the server, match, club etc. Don't cheat (who needs it). Maintain a good image for the club... and defend Da Bro's. Special Note: We are NOT a Biker Bar and Hells Angels type of Squad .. be a Pilot Officer and Gentleman, no foul language and hate talk. Remember, words don't kill.. bullets do!

5) If you have the talent and expertise.. then lead. Otherwise follow the 'caller" or "Flight Leader". Each session one of the members will be a 'caller" or Flight Leader and direct our efforts. This Flight Leader will vary depending on the persons 'talents' and how well they do the job. Best caller should always either step up.. or train another member on how to 'call the in game flight plan".

Land Side.

Here is were flight skill, any so called rank, or team status goes out the door. As a group we all have equal voice and we all vote on any major direction the club would move in. Club business is club business and the business of all members regardless of longevity etc. One man, one vote.

Because of Real World considerations a President and Vice President of the club is necessary. If we want to sign up for leagues etc, then understand those organizations always require the name of the CO/XO , email contact info, etc, for management and pass word considerations. For this reason our President and Vice President will be designated as CO and XO but those ranks hold no official club rankings other than taking care of necessary business. Again, we will have no XO or CO as any type of official ranking system. All in club ranking designation will be "Pilot Officer" with no rank attached. No generals, no bosses. A salute is a motion of respect.. not recognition of a rank.

Rank or position within the club will be mostly decided by the club members and a voting process. Obviously those that step up and do something would be voted into that support position as the Lead Member in that area. Remember the 'worst' pilot might just be the 'best' club President and so forth. Pilot skill has nothing to do with managing a club and/or group of individuals.

Exactly how the club works is a private matter available to ToW AA squad members only. ToW Club members have access to private areas for details.
