D K P EXPLANATION (TRIBES OF WAR SYSTEM)
Tribes of War is a coalition of guilds on Europes Thunderhorn World of Warcraft Server
The guilds that make up Tribes are Feral Instinct,The Bloodblades,Silent Killer,Night Marauders and several players from other close guild like Dragon Muffins
Most people had a preference for a zero sum DKP system ,but had some wishes to be added too, wich makes it our own system.
Please take some time to read the whole explanation.
If you have any questions(or find mistakes) I will be happy to answer(correct) them on the forums.
We are using the CT Raidtracker add on to track attendence and drops and AutoDKP to make up the scorelist that you can acces via forum
Liszenya,Asbach & Koren will be editing the players DKP and editing the droprates from Allakhazam
DKP
DKP stands for Dragon Kill Points and is a system widely and successfully used by many large and experienced guilds in order to determine loot priority among
its players. It dates back from early MMO games such as Everquest, where a lot of the mobs were infact.. dragons.
Why do we need DKP
If you come on any raid with high level content, it is likely we will be using this system to decide who is eligible to receive loot.
The more points a person has, the more priority they have when an item they need is dropped.
How to earn DKP on Raids
You receive DKP for attending raids. Whenever you attend a raid where high level loot is received, DKP is won and lost. The amount of DKP received in a raid is not known
until after the raid is complete, because it depends entirely on what loot drops, what bosses are killed, and a couple of other factors (covered below).
Typically the amount of DKP received in a raid, is the total value (in points) of all the loot distributed in the raid, divided by the number of raid participants.
For example, if we receive 4 items, worth 50 points each, in a 20 person raid, each person will receive 10 points at the end of the raid. (4x50) / 20.
DKP Points are rewarded on a per instance basis meaning you have to attend the actual instance to be able to get points and bid on items.
Miscellaneous DKP Earnings
Standing by as a Reserve + 1 DKP (Reserve online during raid only.),Repairbot + 1 DKP.,Leaving before end of run (without notice)- 1 DKP
We just keep earning points? This means the same people will always get loot!
No no, not at all. Every time somebody "bids" on an item, they LOSE points. This usually means that they have sufficiently less points than another person,
to not be allowed to bid on the next lot of items that drop, thus giving everyone in the raid a fair chance of getting some loot.
Bids on an item
To determine who has first bids on a dropped item we will look at the amount of DKP owned by the players of the class(es) for which the item is suited.
Class(es) will be discussed ingame ,by no means is there a set item for set class but we use common sense to decide.
The person with the highest amount of DKP will get first bids.
If the player with the highest amount doesn?t want the item, the next in line will be given the change to get the item, and so on.
Since we will all start with 0 DKP, the items dropped on the first raid will be distributed by means of rolling.
If noone wants the drop it will be disenchanted and the shard is rolled on, Nexus Crystals go into Raid Bank.
Raid Bank
The raid bank has items in it that are gathered to be available to all tribes raiders.Primarily recipe ingredients for armor upgrades.
The withdrawal of ingredients (like bloodvine, souldarite ,dark iron etc.) from raid bank by a player will cost 5dkp per item request to be placed on forum adressing Fossegrimen.
You can request an enchant (with nexus crystals). First come will get the enchant as soon as mats are in. You can only request
if you have all mats other then nexus crystal that are needed. Getting the enchant will cost you 200 DKP (most enchants use several crystals).
Price will be lowered if no crystals are goin out of bank.
But some raids we just wipe to a boss and get no loot, what happens here?
These are special cases (mentioned as "other factors" above), raids that yield no loot, or are a learning experience, (such as wiping to Luciferon 10x)
will be awarded points for time invested. So people who turn up and donate their time to help and learn an encounter, will receive points for doing so.
This is called IDKP, or "Incentive DKP", and makes things that are usually a waste of time, more attractive to people.
How did you get the items value?
The formula I've found is:
Value = (1/(drop rate)) x (boss bonus) x (rarity bonus) x 100
Where:
drop rate = drop % located on Allakhazam's WoW site
boss bonus = DKP bonus awarded for that particular boss
rarity bonus = additional factor weighed on whether an item is legendary (score of 5), epic (score of 2), or rare (score of 1)
For example, an epic item with an 8% drop rate off any mob within the zone would have the following value:
(1/8) x 1 x 2 x 100 = 25 points
A similar item dropped off High Priestess Jeklik would be rated a higher value as that item is only dropped from that particular boss:
(1/8) x 3 x 2 x 100 = 75 points
As drop rates do change over time depending on changes within the game and number of people killing particular creatures, we will be recalculating prices periodically
to keep the database up-to-date.
For cut-off values (maximum):
Rare Items = 100 (150 on EndBoss)
Epic Items (minor boss) = 200
Epic Items (Hakkar/Ragnaros/Ossirian drop) = 250
Cut-off values are the maximum DKP values which are paid for specific items.
For MC there is taken into account that the items dropped that are class based should have a lower adjusted value, also lots of those items drop of several bosses so the chance they drop is higher
then actual droprate per Mob.So we get :
Value = (1/(drop rate x number of bosses)) x (boss bonus) x (rarity bonus) x 100
Tier 1 and 2 class items have set adjusted values .
Sidenotes:
The system is designed such that the number of points going into the system, is the same as the points going out of the system, or in other words, .
points earned = points spent. Using IDKP as a reward for raids where no points are spent introduces an excess of points into the system.
In order to maintain a near zero sum of points IDKP adjustments will periodically be used to balance the points. This will result in EVERYBODY losing a few points
to even out the system.
Please keep reading, this isn't as bad as it sounds.
Remember that points earned are limited to the number of raid participants. Points lost will affect everybody. So people who do attend non-loot events will still have
extra points for doing so. People who NEVER come to IDKP events will actually lose points, because they didn't bother coming to get the points in the first place.
Its also a good incentive to attend as many raids as possible.
Values of drops are made up in a spreadsheet so all can plan ahead on what they would like to spend their hard earned points on:
