I just bought the game today after waiting a long time to find it released in the US. I installed it and finally after three reboots got it to load. I played a couple training missions and then quit to do some other stuff. Tried to restart the game and got nothing but a black screen with sound. I have to reboot to get the game to load only to find the menus don't match up to the background image and I can't start missions because the "Accept Mission" button doesn't highlight. I've set the game resolution to 800x600, even editting it manually in one of the .ini files, and nothing seems to help. It's kind of hit or miss. And no offense to the dev team, but that just says shoddy programming to me.
Here's a pic of what I'm talking about;
My system specs are;
P4 2.2Ghz
Abit BD7-II mobo (non-RAID)
1.25GB PC2100 RAM
ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500 (128MB version)
SB Audigy Platinum
WinXP Pro ServicePack1
DX9.0b
Latest ATI Catalyst drivers
Latest SB Audigy drivers
I had no problems running the demos and and really enjoyed playing them. But if I have to reboot constantly to try to play the game, and still have problems with video resolution, it'll be another in a long line of games that gets uninstalled and stuck on a shelf.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get the game to run properly and consistently, or is there a patch on the way that will correct this problem?
