can i for example get MS word to use it?
When you have MS speech engine installed, it can be utilized by any game or application that supports speech and/or text to speech.
MS Word, Dragon Naturally Speaking just to name two.
Some programs may aquire additional packages. MS Word has the text to speech engine on the installer CDs.
