Are you firing your guns manually Jack, or is the shot from the Fire Control Tower just for effect?

I found that AI gunners suck at aiming. I've been doing it manually for quite some time now, you should try it if you already haven't. Once you get the right gun elevation, you pretty much hit them every time.

Only problem with firing manually I've found is the other ship's gunnery is so accurate you're dead long before you're in visual range to shoot at them yourself. With the BCs you'll live long enough to get close, but since the turning rate isn't fixed yet, it's faster to let the AI gunners on your ship waste all the ammo and hope they get lucky.

Yeah I let the AI do the work until I can see them through my binoculars, then I do it myself.

I do that with the BBs also- why shoot blindly from 6km out when the AI can do the work?

Of course, from 3KM out, why let the AI do the work when you hit them every time...
