Account FAQ

Most likely you are blocking cookies, you need to allow cookies from *.tidesofwar.net

Use the “Password recovery” tool from the login page of the service you are trying to access. If you can’t remember or no longer have access to the email address you used to register, then you need to register again.

Make sure that emails from *@tidesofwar.net doesn’t end up in your junk folder.

Our mailserver usually delivers mails instantly to the remote SMTP server, naturally delays can occur, but most likely the email ended up in your junk folder.

–> if you haven’t received it within 24 hours, use the “Resend confirmation email” tool on the registration page.

–> If you still don’t receive it, then use our “Contact Us” link to submit a request.

Profile FAQ

From your “Profile Menu”, click on the arrow.

Once you click on the arrow, you will then hover over “Profile”. From there, click on “Profile – > Edit”.

From this screen you will be able to change your user avatar, cover photo on your personal profile, as well as edit your profile information. In addtion, you can also add a forum signature under the “Forum” tab.

From your “Profile Menu”, click on the arrow.

Once you click on the arrow, you will then hover over “Account”. From there, click on “Account – > Login Information”.

From your “Profile Menu”, click on the arrow.

Once you click on the arrow, you will then hover over “Account”. From there, click on “Account – > Email Preference”.

From this screen, you will be able to set what notifications you wish to “OPT IN” to receiving from Tides of War. By default, everything is set to “No”. Members must “OPT IN” by selecting “Yes” to individual email notifications.

Yes! We do value privacy here at Tides of War. You can control the privacy of your profile details.

From your “Profile Menu”, click on the arrow.

Once you click on the arrow, you will then hover over “Account”. From there, click on “Account – > “Privacy”.

From here you can set the privacy details of your profile.

Great question! Connections are how we connect with each other at Tides of War. Consider it a “Friend”.

When you want to make a connection with someone, you will visit their profile and click on “Connect”.

Once you do this, a connection request will be sent to the member and they can accept or reject the connection request.

Connections are a great way to make friends at Tides. It also serves a privacy function. If you have your profile set to “My Connections”, then only those who you have made connections with can see your profile.

Forum FAQ

You can tag someone in a post by using our mention feature.

In order to mention someone simple start by typing “@” symbol. From there you can then type the person’s username and it will automatically provide you with a list of members. Simply choose the member you want to tag and click their name. That’s it!

That’s ok! Some of our forums are “reply only”. This means that you will not be able to open a new topic. Only our admins or admin team can do this.

You can display your code in our forms by wrapping it in two ` ` symbols.

Before you start your code, place a ` symbol before it. When you finish your code, add another `. The code will then display like this:

BBcodes were added to our forums recently. In addition to the regular visual editor, you can use BBcode tags in your post. Below are some of the ones we support.
Bold [b]{text}[/b] Makes {text} bold
Italic [i]{text}[/i] Makes {text} italic
Underline [u]{text}[/u] Underlines {text}
Strikethrough [s]{text}[/s] Create a strikethrough on {text}

General FAQ

We’re happy to hear you’re interested in sharing your favorite Youtube video’s with us!

To add your favorite video you will need to go to our Youtube Gallery page, then click on the “Upload Youtube Video” button at the top right.

You’ll need to include the following:

  • Video Title
  • Video ID
  • Video Category

The most important part of this is the Video ID. This is generally at the end of the youtube url. Example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OnieKUgv3I

You’ll need to include the following:

  • Channel Title
  • Twitch Channel ID
  • Channel Information

The most important part of this is the Twitch Channel ID. This is generally at the end of the twitch url. Example:

Great! We are always looking for people who want to contribute to Tides of War.

1.) Please contact on of our staff members and let them know you’re interested in becoming a contributor.

2.) Once you are approved, you will then see a new link in your user menu titled “Contribute”.

3.) Once you have access to our “Contribute” section, you’ll write your news article and submit it. It will then go into que for approval.
