Stories are to be submitted in hard copy; double spaced manuscripts, accompanied by an RTF format version of the story on CDRom or 3.5" floppy disk. A valid physical address and a valid email address must be included with the submittal. DO NOT EMAIL YOUR FILE UNLESS REQUESTED TO DO SO - IT WILL BE REFUSED
I think this might be deterring amateur authors - perhaps this should only be necessary for the top 10 finalists?

It'd be much easier to be able to email a plain text or maybe PDF copy.

Just my 2 torpedos worth ;)

I agree with that it was that clause that put me off attempting to submit a story.

If you are having problems with the hardcopy shipping, etc. You can send it electronically, but you need to notify me FIRST.

This way we can get it printed for you here. If there are any other concerns, please raise them - we want to help overcome the obstacles to participation...hey, it's $500!

I'm scrambling to get done with my APAGear contribution before I get to work on my contrib, though that leaves me precious little time to write it down. And E3 tix are worthless if one almost certainly can't attend. But fame is. And the money would be nice too...

And RTF format is available in MSWord, MSWorks and Wordpad. It's pretty much the standard format for submitting professional writing.

So ,, what does RTF mean ?

I never used MSWord. So , can someone give a full and very comprehensive detailed ,entensive ,and simple explanation and instructions etc . Oh , in about 500 words or so ? Hey , I figured out how to 'upload ' last time , that was a mystery too ! Things one learns on the Enigma forum !

RTF means Rich Text Format. It's a file extension.

Gonna give this a shot..

OK shipmates

The easy part is done, I have completed a handwritten manuscript, now its time for the hard part, the two finger pounding of the ol keyboard. east, expect something within the next week and a half or so. That was definitely a fun project!!! :D
