People, please don't laugh. I can't get past the Eisenegel mission.

German surface campaign is the last one left for me, but I'm stuck on this one.

I start sailing towards the enemy, firing my guns. I evade all the torps with ease, but the enemy turns away and runs. Deck guns seem to be completely useless against those fast bastards, so I sink two or three of them with my flak. By the time I'm done with them, the remaining pair of speedboats is just too far to catch up with.

Any better tactics?

Did you read all the tactics on the board already about this one ?

Maybe you should direct your 4 inch at one torpedo boat ; as well as keeping the secondary guns ( AA ) trained on one boat at a time . The 3 inch are on opposite sides , so better let them both seek a target .

The 4 inch , maybe on the farthest boat . and just keep watching where they all are . If the boat is sunk, quickly re-direct fire to another . Keep watching the Btac. Using a torpedo sometimes too , if the chance occurs ., blast all four even !

Let us know when you succeed , Now February 13 th . counting ,,,,, one day ,,,, two .....

Yeah, I did read that. That's all well and good - it's rather obvious that I should utilize all of my ship's firepower.

The problem is, that I never got the chance to assign targets for both of my side guns.

The speedboats are divided into two groups: a group of 3 and a pair. If my side guns were to fire at both groups I would have to be somewhere between them. And that would be very bad, because with two separate groups of targets I would never be able to catch them.

I've tried the "max firepower" scenario: I turn to starboard and slow down to 1/3. I fire my torps and fire all my port side artillery. The problems are as follows:

a) my torps never hit the suckers

8-) nor do my guns - the speedboats appear to be almost impossible to hit with anything heavier than AA.

Not to mention that facing any other direction than the enemy's when the torps are fired at me makes evasive maneuvers difficult and increases the distance between myself and the targets as I am unable to turn and accelerate quickly enough.

And yeah, I'll let you know when I accidentally beat this one ;)

Actually I let them go away, and noticed that they run away not far actually. they go on patrol 6km S.E and 6km N.W. . I do agree it takes sometime to get there but then with a bit of patience the mission isn't that hard...honest ! :)

Now that's something. I'll have to check that. Thanks Image

Yeah,, uh,, specifically that place ...." Here" .where the viceadmiral says , . But you did read it huh ?

Well ,, I think you should try to keep up speed most of the time . Yes you cant target the 3 inch, as I tried to say, because altho one of them might have a target it can reach , that means 50% of the two , ( 1 ) 3 inch is doing nothing , of course. If it is the last boat ,, yes . then assign the 3 inch to that last target. So.... speed , and torpedoes miss mostly , but cause them to slow, turn, and prevents them evading so easily .

Heh, I've tried torp attack once more. I managed to take three of those suckers with my torpedoes, but by the time I turned towards them and accelerated, I had about 7 incoming with no chance to evade.

I'll keep trying anyway enigma!:

Yeah! I did it :-). I'd be quicker, but I had an awful exam - the law of Ancient Rome... Image

My tactics:

1. left full ruder and a torp salvo towards the MTBs while firing the 4" and one 3" at them

2. evasive maneuvers (one hit taken), here's where my AAA comes in

3. one boat eats my torp while another two collide and make an easy target for my 3"

4. there's the fun - I chase the suckers, loosing contact for a while - but just as Donoby said, they stop running at some point, starting to patrol the area

5. glub-glub-glub go the boats.. :D

Thanks to all of you guys! Image
