I have had an idea bouncing around my head since I started the LFN Surface mission #5. Motor Torpedo Boats are all very well, but what aboat Motor Gun Boats, which were used like MTBs, but also operated where MTBs couldn't use their fish, such as in the Adriatic.

Main trouble with patrol boats at the moment is they are too sinkable. I've put in a request that it should be harder for them to be hit with 3" guns & above (just like an aircraft would be), so we shall see - but as for my preference, I want 'em with more spare torpedos and depth charges!

I have a novel beside me that includes some technical schematics of D-class MGBs ("Dog-boats") and armament, as follows:
Length: 115ft
Beam: 21ft 6in
Top Speed: approx. 30 knots at 2400 revs
No funnel-side exhausts
Hard chine design(?)
Four 1500 hp Packard supercharged engines
Fuel capacity: 5000 gallons of 100-octane petrol
Weapons:
One 40mm pom-pom ('A' gun position, later replaced by anothe 6-pounder)
Two twin .05 inch turrets
Two twin .303s on the bridge
One twin Oerlikon (20mm) ('X' gun position)
One 6-pounder (120mm) ('Y' gun position)
