Im stuck on the mission where you have to sink 4 U boats in 60 seconds. The 2 AI speedboats that have come along for the ride seem to be doing just that. I think in 30 attempts at the mission they have sunk 2 subs between them. I am left to do the job single handed and I am finding it impossible. HELP!!!!

Good hunting,

Ah THAT mission impossible .

Yes a few are .

If you got three already that's good,, I agree , just keep going and don't watch the explosions .

Missions number 4 are not easy .

( Is 4 an unlucky number , like 13 ? )

The good news is they stop at 11.. ( or 10B ) , and then ......

You'll want to go back and get in those torpedo boats all over again ! ..

and again .......

Just completed the mission, thought it was impossible....

Managed to sink 2 Subs that were surfaced and then set my Torpedoes to a depth of 20 feet and fired on the Subs that were submerged

took a few minutes to complete... just dont go near the Destroyers.... ;)

Congratulations :D Looks like a new technique there to add to the list - never tried firing torps set at 20 feet before - I might just have to try that mission again - errrrr, no, what was I thinking Image

Well, I spent nearly my entire day (aside from the God thing) trying to beat this mission, and after reading the hints here three times, I finally managed to ALMOST beat it.

I took the SDF control thing seriously (much better control on a MTB than voice commands) and began using spectator view to line up my torps. The other thing, if I missed with any of the first three torps, I abandoned the mission at once... and I got to the point where, with rough seas, I just opted out as well.

So... in my most successful attempt...

Began by ringing up engines 1/3 and steering slightly port. After radio message came in, the first sub surfaced off my port bow. I rammed a fish down his gullet and made a hard port turn to face the second surfacing boat. At a distance of 350 meters, I unloaded my second port torpedo and swung about 40 degrees to starboard.

Lined up and closed on the third U-Boat to a range of about 200 meters, piped Starboard tube 2 down his bow and made a hard starboard turn and made a run at the fourth sub.

I came to a full stop above the fourth sub, then backed off at 2/3 power until I was about 30 meters off his starboard beam. Then I waited... and waited... and waited. I noticed his scope up so I began to gently rudder my starboard tube 1 into position. Three enemy aircraft began to approach, one dropping an iron bomb at me... In haste, I hit ahead 2/3 as the sub before me surfaced... hoping and praying, I fired off my torp.... just as my MTB's keel landed on his deck. My torpedo went flying about 3-5 meters in front of his conning tower and he dove immediately :(

Another time, I followed the exact same procedure, sat dead quite on top of him, and when I saw him sticking his periscope out, I started to fire away at the water with my forward AA gun. I scored several hits, and he started to surface. Unfortunately, I got sunk by a deck gun round from the other U-Boat before I he surfaced enough for me to take my torpedo shot.

Finally, I have noticed that after running the game for a while, there are times when the ship seems to go invisible. Case in point, I fired my starboard tube at the first U-Boat, and the torpedo went right through the ship between the conning tower and the props... the sub pixellated as the torp went through it, and the torp went right on going. I was so ticked!

At any rate, I just have a feeling... tonight is the night! I will beat this mission... I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.

I did it! I beat the frakkin mission! Only took me six tries today, and the AI helped me!

For the skinny...

Opened and went to spectator view, then revved engines to full. Turned about 50 degrees to port and headed for the second sub that surfaces. Jammed her with my Port 2 tube broadside as I heeled hard to starboard to get the fourth sub that surfaces. Immediately launched Port tube 1 at her as I spun back on the third sub that surfaces. As I did so, I lined up starboard tube 1 from about 650 meters and blew a fish out of the Starboard 1 tube. Held course then on my starboard turn on the first sub to surface and sent tube 2 starboard into her broadside as she completed her pivot turn. Pulled back on spectator to track the one to the far boat, and noticed I had missed my second port tube shot, but one of the AI boats rammed a torp up her port beam. Just then I heard my third shot hit the far boat and I had knocked down 3 and gotten help on one Milchcow on a span of 41 seconds.

Of course, now I am on mission 7.... I would really like to have my DE back ;)
