Tides of War

Hi all. I've been playing the game off and on with the voice commands. Overall, it's an interesting game. The question I have is regarding the multiplayer. I know it's a MMORPG, but what will consist of?? Will it be groups of us joining a server for endless naval battles?? Are we going to have stats and levels for the tonnage we sink??

I know they're n00bish questions, but I'd just like to know what I'll be paying a monthly subscription for. This will be the first MMORPH that I'll have played in years. I was looking at signing up for a subscription for Pirates of the Burning next year as I seems to offer a lot more to do.

Anyways, not trying to start a flame war, just askin' some questions.

Good questions. Keep in mind, our lawsuit vs GMX and the associated cash crunch has thrown the schedule into turmoil and delayed MP for a bit.

You will be a ship commander.

You will be part of a larger war

you will have a home port, fleet and battlegroup that you belong to

you can charter your own taskforces or join existing and ad-hoc taskforces

you will be able to capture other ports and generally begin choking off the ability of the enemy to wage war.

As you rise in rank you will be able to take on broader responsibilities including command over groups of taskforces, even a fleet. There are RTS, RPG and of course FPV elements in the game

Players determine the outcome of the war

You can play for anyside, or be a privateer (will be very tough).

If the interest is good there will be an entire player controlled civilian side as well; Tired of the military, resign and participate (or run) shipping companies, cruise lines, bars, etc. It is intended to grow into a significantly deeper world as it progresses.

Human characters are headed for Enigma as well as terrain and the ability to fly aircraft.

It is a different game than what you will find out there and there should be plenty to do to keep life in Enigma interesting.

This is just a VERY brief overview.

Sounds even better. You guy's definitely have my interest. I read in a previous thread earlier today, (the one with the screens of the carriers) about pilotable aircraft, etc. Definitely will be signing up for the MP once it's released.
