Here's An Idea!

I have been thinking of our matches. Much like Tbar I play to win..still fun and respectful, but win. I have ideas to help our LTS matches. Although I am not there to play the official matches - which i regret deeply - in other matches of LTS I noticed no to very little structure within the pilots attacking and deffending in BSS. In the LTS match there needs to be structure and a well thought and played out plan. As Joker has said, when versing the TS Sqd, Breeze would rush us and then have the two pilots following to pick off the little fishies going for the bait, good plan, good structure. I think we should do the same.

I think we should use wings in out matces. Such as Spit Wing and 109 Wing. Going with the original plan of Spits low and 109's High we should make two wings with a leader in each. The leader would obiviously lead the pilots of his wing, give orders as to adopt or break formation, engage or dis-engage, wing pilots up...basically call the shots. This would provide a good structure. Also the wing leaders would talk and work together. If we say, spit wing was lead by Tbar, he would either say to rush..or gain alt. Adopt a formation, then talk to the leader of 109 wing..lets say Joker.

Joker and Tbar would talk and make a good stratergy. Spit wing rushes right ? the opposite team didnt expect it comming, they panick and send a few pilots to attack...spit wing in formation and prepared would dominate these few pilots. The other remaining pilots see's this and comes to help, Tbar calls in Joker and his 109 wing. The 109 Wing easily pick off the remaining pilots as Spit Wing make a clean get away.

It makes a full proof structure for the pilots to follow. I for 1 am lost in matches, i know the plan..it's just not organised and we seem to lose it. Having a leader to set you straight and also having a structure to follow will be good not only for the newer pilots but also confidence.

Tbar and Joker can make stratergies on how to use the wings effectively in combat and also nominate leaders ect. I used this stratergy with BBC but not for matches. Simply a fun game against eachother. Popgun lead a few pilots against FireStorm and his few pilots. This would alsofit nicely to a checklist which is soon to come, what wing are you in, who is your leader, are you in the right plane? ect.

Also another thing they used which we could use nicely was put the wings into different TS channels and having the leaders use a Key Binding to speak to eachtoher. This means no confusion between wings, and complete control and attention to your wing. The bad thing means less eye's on your tail and you wont get that many warnings, but if the wings are as tight as i imagine then we wont have a problem. This is only a idea and i dont expect to use it although it is there for use and trial.

Try the wings and tell me how it goes.

P.S i will start teaching the young guns again in a few weeks. I have a rough idea of who is active and will train them asap. Also i wrote this in a hurry so excuse spelling and punctual mistakes. Hehehe

Hi Recon,

Good post except for the following. First the Spits would be low and slow. Having Spits go right at 109 K4's is a suicide mission. The best plane for a frontal attack other than the K4 is the LA7.

Those 3 cannons up front plus the low altitude speed is a big plus. Still the LA 7 has weak armor and the cannons can burn out pretty fast. This means gun timing. Start your shots at no more than about 3500 ft. Pull out at 1800 ft. to avoid the K4 guns.

Why 3500 ft.?? the closing rate of 2 plane coming at each other is a lot faster. by the time you see 3500 ft on the other plane distance from you. You'll close to at least 2800 ft before your guns start firing. That's nearly 1/2 to a full second in time. Instead of pulling up I suggest a roll over maneuver and keep going watch your opponent in the reverse view. If he turns you turn. otherwise be careful of other attackers.

Just a thought other suggestions are welcome.
