Sorry I havent been flying lately, I've been busy boarding my house up to get ready for a Cat 5 hurricane. Kinda nervous. I have all my windows boarded up I'm packed and ready to roll. We just got the mandatory evac statement so if I would stay, NO one could come to help if need be. Hopefully my house will hold up. Its 2 years old and built to the post Katrina-Rita standards, hurricane clips, roof tied into slab and 2x6 exterior walls. Supposedly good for 150 mph. We'll see. I just don't want to be in it to "load test" it. I can only imagine what the wind load will be like on my roof.

I've ridden out a few here in south L.A. but none as impressive as this one.

Last one was Lily, she was a strong one by the time it got here. We were half drunk and unprepared for it (food wise, plenty of beer). Now, I'm older and have a family so its northbound for the Shwane clan. Anyway, wish me luck, I'll post more when I get back. Cheers

Good Luck Shwane1 You are doing the smart thing by getting the hell out of there. By the way, make sure you take your PC with you if you have room.

Be careful and take care of the family. We'll be praying for your safe return.

First off, thanks for all the well wishes. I appreciate them all. We got back 3 days ago to no power, water or gasoline. People tend to horde gas at a time like this. I didn't have any damage except for the wife's tropical plants in the front yard. Weird, you would think "tropical" plants could take a beating. Anyway, looks like Ike has its sites set on us. That's not good, all of our rivers are out of their banks and the ground is pretty much saturated with rain water. I will be boarding back up again I'm sure. Well, Ill try to make it to fly tonight if my internet holds up, its been real sketchy.

But, Ill keep you all posted regardless. Thanks and see you after the big blow.
