We have a second server that we own, and it's in CRITICAL need of repairs. This server is what runs our forums, and has lost a drive. If another drive goes, which it could at any moment as they are all the same age and several years old. We would lose our forums for a time and have a big mess trying to run things thru the game server. It would Cripple us Big Time! We are currently searching for the cheapest way to fix it, but right now it would cost a minimum of $300.00. This is going to be a "special donation" drive. If we can each pony up an exta $10 we'll have it. Some won't have it, so if anyone can reach deeper, it would surely be appreciated. To do this, go to "support this site" and do the "one time donation" button. Put in the amount and press enter. If you are a current "subscriber" this will show up differently and I'll know it's for the "special donation drive". If you do a month to month donation method, I'll still know because you'll have 2 donations for that month. If you want to pm me of your contribution, that's fine too. I plan to post the names of those who contribute... not how much, just that they did! After all, if you step up you deserve recognition. I also will solicite money from all the ToW groups... the Air, Navy and Space/Fantasy's areas as well. Some of those areas currently contribute monthly, even FLH members, and they use the forums just as we do. Image Thanks in advance for your cooperation. You always come thru for us!

Sorry guys -- hope this is better Image

Code tag works perfectly.

The real problem is Hunterdog posted a link that you folks can't get to. I see she has figured that out and posted the content of said post. It was suggested that she let other folks know of the need and thus posted here. Hunterdog is the ToW Club Treasurer. A lot of diversified groups use the ToW Services and the Club suggested she make said posts to the public in total. ToW Club is non profit in total and pays all the TowNet expenses. TowNet is also non profit in total and exist to support the ToW Club. ToW Club is "independent" of TowNet, and it not owned or controlled by TowNet.

Just for clarification purposes,,, what you just stated to me means that these 2 organizations are independent of each other but support each other. basicly.

I am in the process of donating but when I go through paypal it says I am paying "TBAR co".

What is the footprint from TBAR co to ToWnet?

Tbar owns Tbar.com outright .. no partners etc.

Something .. has to own something. Tbar.com is legal entity that has a bank account. TowNet does not .. it cost way to much for lawyers etc for a non profit organization. Tow Club used paypal and the Tbar.com bank account to conduct any transactions. TowClub has full access to Tbar.com Pay Pal account .. they process everything.

The relationship is somewhat symbiotic between Tow Club and TowNet ... they can't exits without the other. Tbar.com is the vehicle they use for all financial transactions.

The ToW Club Treasurer can tell you more about any transactions etc than I can!! :)

No sir.. not related. No one is related to me that is within TowNet or Tow Club. Many relationships however have turned to "close to family like". No blood relations.

I never ask anyone for money. I've always just paid the expense myself. However the ToW Club and TowNet folks won't let me operate as I have in the past .. i.e "out of my pocket". They insist on each member of the Tow Club paying dues, and do frequently have fund drives for expenses etc.

I'm very much surprised .. pleasantly I might say that AA member would .. and have answered the call.

Thank you !

I want to thank you all in advance for any or all donations.

Just to make all this as clear as I can.

The ToW club is a not for profit community of gamers, which simply means we

collect donations each month to pay our bills. We have a very small savings account

for "emergency's" and this will not cover the expense of a new hard drive for the box

that supports these forums. No one -- I repeat no one gets any money from this. Everyone

is a volunteer, including Tbar, and we could never pay any of our "experts" for the time they

spend keeping all the parts of this group working. I have never met Tbar in person, nor have

I met any of the others. We live in different states, and everything is fully disclosed to our ToW

club members. We do "know" each other from verifiable sources and we have a CoC and Const & Bylaws

so that all members know what's happening. My books are open for audit to any ToW Club member.

Each contribution is noted by date, charted month to month, and any special donations are kept

separate from the monthly donations and are only used for the designated purpose of the donation drive.

Any one who donated to the ToW organization can rest assured that all monies are verified by at least

2 different individuals - no one person has control of anything. I wouldn't take the job if this wasn't true.

I really never understood how the USAAC fit into the ToW "family" - and I can't say I do now. I only

posted this in your forums because you will not have a working forum if we lose another drive. I thought

it would only be fair to let you know so if you chose to help if you could.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to pm me or K-9, our ToW Club president.

Sincerely,

Hunterdog

ToW Club Sec/Treasurer
