ok I know I've been playing forever and I should not be having this problem or at least I should know how to fix this but....

I had my stick un plugged for a few weeks and went to plug back in and can not set stick up in game.

I checked from my control panel and all seems to be operating But when I get into game I can not set up stick.

Any Ideas wtf I need 2 do? lol-thanks for any kind words of wisdom.

Hi M8,

Just a thought, somewhere in the properties of your joystick there is a box that needs to be checked. It says something like " use this joystick for older programs", this needs to be checked to be able to use the stick in AA.

Just a shot, this was why one time I could not get mine to work.

Take Care,

Air Boss uses a MS Sidewinder FF2 Stick.

Control panel for MS FF2 stick really does not have that 'box', it does have a button for advanced where you can set that stick profile for "older games".. but by default that should already be set.

Air Boss, I believe has his stick software and setting correct. Using the stick software the profile is set for AA and tests properly for all buttons etc. So for this reason I think he needs to move to the game side.

I've found in the past when setting up my MS FF2 stick for AA that it can be a real pain .. and very touchy. In several cases I've had to check off 'rudder' .. then exit the game and enter again to get that rudder to actually work. When I checked off all the stick options at one time within the game .. it did not all work.

Enter the game 'off line' so you are local. I'm sure the stick software is ok etc. Go to options within the game and set the stick options one at a time. You are advised to close the game after each setting .. test .. then turn on the next one and repeat the process.

Reason Will be. In Gamepads/Joypads. Click Advanced button at bottom. Make sure the joystick is the prefered device. Otherwise it will recognise whatever is the prefered deivce in game. AA is old, does not read more then 1 device at a time, well i gather that anyway.
