Unable To Use Microphone In Demo

Hi Folks - I think this is the naval action/lite sim I've been waiting for. Unfortunately I've come across two problems - One, I can't use the mic in the demo. Is it supposed to be usable?,
and two, I found that the subs in the demo seem to "give up" after a period of time and sit underwater until you depth charge them, or surface and get cannoned. Does the actual game do this too, or does the enemy disengage and try to escape if it runs out of ammo or loses tactical advantage? :P

The Speech engine is ONLY included in the first demo (the one of 257MB size), and on the CDROMs.
You need to have either CD or download the large demo :(

For the other, I dont think that they "give up" they are trying to hide.
Would I be able to get this bigger demo? I don't mind the load time on my dsl. How is it any different from the current version I have?

Submarines will try to hide or escape if they can when they have lost advantage.  Because Air and Batteries are monitored, they can run out and be forced to the surface.  Of course we don't let the air last for 20+ hours, what would be the fun in that....
I found that 3DGamers have kept the list of demo versions from the first to the latest. Can you tell me if I load up the 256 mb demo, will the ones after it update or completely replace it? Obviously later versions I would assume to have bugs ironed out, but I'd like to see what the voice commands would be like, but not have to deal with crashes, etc.
The early demos are VERY outdated.  Download the EnigmaSAPI from here
about 42mb.
