Hey, You guys remember the top 100 kill list in 1.5? Would it be possible to do something similar for aa? Like a top 50 list or something...I think it would give players something to shoot for maybe..And might add a few more pilots in rooms late at night or any other time of the day... It's meaningless really but might be fun for players who want to make that list :) It could reset every night like a 24 hour thing....Oh well, just thought i would ask and see what everybody thought...... :) thanks

Ummm... you might have a good idea. I think I can see a host of 'objections' coming. But you might have a right idea about some type of 'goal' or 'acknowledgment' for a good job for a given time period.

FFA. This "might" be a bad idea. I only say so because I would not want to see 'cadets' taken advantage of just because some so smuck pilot can make a top gun list.

Teams.

Maybe a top gun list for the top 20 for the day, week, month might be kewl to see :)

Comments:

From what I understand, the CLP has a copy of the logs for the entire 24 hr period. From this log we can read the info and build a data base. From that data base we can display almost any type of stats one can imagine. This is what I understand.. and of course I could be wrong.

We could also do things like take the top 10 from the 'monthly' leaders .. and invite them to a top gun invitational perhaps.

I would hope that your request was meant to make pilots have some type of personal goal to sign on for .. and to fly more often. It is possible that a special room can be made for that purpose for the top 20 list where that room only is used to accumulate that stats .. therefore anyone going into that room knows what folks are waiting for.

Given problems I can see is that pilots can conspire to 'fix the fight'. For example I can make a deal with you under a given tag you can kill me all day long .. and thus run up your score. Then you can do likewise for me. If these type of 'fixed fights' can be worked out .. maybe its a good idea.

I would like to see some type of list I could make that would award me my Golden Wings .. would be interesting. Many other games have lists such as your talking about.

It will be interesting to see replies from the folks that really 'know' the system and the things they have run into in the past that would be a problem for such an idea. There is a great deal of brain power around AA .. discussion of same might yeild some interesting .. attainable.. pilot recognition list/system.

The better approach might be a ladder system?

Yes, a 1vs1 ladder is going to come (for about 2 years already :/). I?ve talked about a ladder-system with TANK many times but it appears to be a long term project because such a system has to be perfect in all regards and should be fully autom. Whenever someone is needed to ?maintain?such a ladder, spare time and human failures are involved. Therefore the techies need to write some ?tricky?scripts, in order to avoid too much human involvement.

Yes, we need to prevent such ?fixed fights? are going to happen or someone signs up more than one account in order to ?push? one account with the other one. The ?ladder? which you have here at USAAC is already very good but still needs some tweaking to become what we?re looking for. Afaik TANK is into it for month? already but doesn?t come forward because he always has to fix other problems with a priority first.

As you all know the scoring-system of AA is somehow broken and although the techy-guys have solved some probs already, it?s still far from working properly. Therefore the ?logs? are currently pretty useless to this regard. Also, storing of all logs from a month arena-enterprise and its data-analysis by scripts, requires a huge database.

An autom. 1vs1 ladder is what I want for a long time already. FOX is right there: such a ladder has only good effects on the playing culture and hopefully also a positive effect on the arena-population.

Afaik TANK has some updates in ?the pipe? for around the christmas-time, let?s wait what he comes up with. And even if a ladder is not part of the updates yet, it will come for sure.

The reason we had so many stats in the original zone was we all only had 1 tag per subscription.

I think we need to limit the number of tags anyone can have.

Having stats like # of stars; kills and others would be good.

1v1 ladder would also be fun!!

One tag per subscription would be a prefect idea

I don?t know but at least it would solve many problems with only one strike. :D

what if we were to have every pilot post on a new topic saying their name and the name they will use.

that is if we were to make a special room for this idea. And if any unknown tags come in the room they

shall be kicked out imediatly. This would hopefully prevent pilots from "Fixed Fighting" like Tbar said.

Just a suggestion,

A registration for the ladder will be required. Each e-mail adress and IP-adress is allowed to register only once.

And for the smart -arses, who think they can use more than one mail - or IP adress to register, we?ll find it out anyway and as a result will ban all registered accounts from the ladder. Safest way imo.

A new and unknown name on the list is already suspicious and will be double - checked for sure. ;)
