Impossible To Launch The Single Playerdemo Install

I'm probably stupid, but i can't even install the single palyer demo installation (the enigmartoffdemo.exe one). when i launch it from w2k, nothing happen more than a dos windows, and when i launch it from run/cmd, its says "the program is too big to fit in memory".
Is that game a dos based one ?
Is my Atlon 2400 +, 1024 MO ram not enought ?
Please help me, i'd like so much to try this game !
