I'm on, I think, the fourth surface mission for the U.S where you have to destroy the two subs. I really suck at sinking subs, though. Is there any way to know the depth of the sub to sink it easier or any other tips that will help me sink them better? Please help!

unfortuantly no there is not way to tell the depth in this game. on a real destroyer the hydrophones and sonnar would give you a better idea were the sub is but on this game there is no way to tell. the only tip i can give you is set you cans as deep as they go because they will explode on impact. but if you start setting them shalower than they will usually explode above the sub.

actually there is / was a bug in the game, i cant remember if it was fixed
Use your binocs, look at the water in the direction of the sub and order "engage" / "engage target"with your microphone, and you will get the text confirmation: "Engaging target at xxx meters", then some simple math will tell you

I think this is another old bug/trick (If not, I'd be surprised, but willing to take full credit for finding it

), but if you go to external view, rotate to the bow or stern, then jerk the mouse down quickly, you'll get a quick underwater glimpse of the sub, provided it's close to the ship.
Obviously, this only works when you're almost on top of him, but you get some bearing as to his depth.

but thats usually only for rought seas, though. done it alot before useing the 170 trick, which gave me over 16,000 tonnes of subs in a day.
