Man East...As much as I hate to tell ya , I think you may need to somehow adjust the DD's...Those German DD's will OWN...Side Note on Black Cat mission first time my client ever crashed to desktop...twice in a row...went and updated all direct X and Nivida drivers and went thru it NP...noticed that when it crashed it did not count as a failed mission....cool...maybe  needed better driver ,maybe action got to heavy for graphics card ,,,don't know...

Same thing has happened to me Ice.  In campaigns in which there are
tons of ships and aircraft, ala US Mission 10b and LFN Mission 10 or 11(?)

the game gets bogged down, lags terrible etc. etc.  My periscope stops,

then jumps after 2-3 secs across screen etc.  The BB's must take up lots of

processor space and speed hehehhe ?

I know more RAM will help me, as in previous post,(256 now) but I hope this does not protend problems when we get to MP and have lots and lots of ships on water.  These lags will certainly get us killed.

We are making a lot of progress on optimizations - specifically textures - which currently are probably crushing anything smaller than a 128mb video card.
We want BIG battles in multiplayer.
Great news East!  Knowing ICEMAN, he WANTS big batttles, he is a VERY
sick and dangerous person hehehehhee.  Me too.

Incidentally, great interview.  Listened to it this am.  Your interviewer sounds like he wants to play the game, did ya give him a copy??? ehhehe.

Does  the the smoke have a lot to do with the *random* CTDs? -when there is lot's belching out from stacks *as well as* from 'wounded' ships like your own -hint,hint :) the fps can get suffer a tad.
Please tone down smoke damage on our own ships East...:(

For the record i have a GF4 TI4600 128mb,512mb PC2700DDR and play it in Quincunx, it's *gorgeous* Although i get random CTDs (annoying especialy in the middle of a LONG battle)...pity we couldn't save once in the middle,i mean some of us have to go out, answer doors, meet people :D etc never mind the CTDs  Image

Thats funny, I got an old ATi Rage Fury Pro (xPERT 2000) 32MB, and I dont get any CTDs here.

I can play for day's and hours and not get a CTD, only had 2 since i bought E:RT -just thinking that the smoke *is* a major fps regardless of how powerful your system, so it *may* be a cause partly of CTDs?

I'm playing E:RT at 1152x864,Athlon XP2000+,ASUS A7N8X Deluxe nForce2 mobo with dual-channel 2x256mb PC2700DDR with Quincunx on and getting over 40fps full detail. But when i look round into a *thick* volume of smoke coming from my ship -that i can't see through- the fps is *hammered* right down to half.

So i imagine that in mega battles with lot's of wounded ships it's a lot to process for the card.

On a side note, you'll *not* be playing E:RT with anything like the settings that i have with that old card! ;) Hence the reason why you wont be experiencing any problems.
