Clear For Action

Any one remeber a board game prior to PC's, or at least mainstrean PC games. Called Clear For Action. It was a Surface Naval game centered in WWII. You used a string to fire torpedoes and measure distance. The ships were peices of paper that had all the stats, this included damage control. You used dice to determine damage amounts and location.
It was a real fun game for the time. Me and about 5 guys would play in the basement of the creator, his name now eludes me. It really wasn't sold mainstream to the best of my knowledge.
The reason I bring this up is I'm looking for these guys that developed the game. Figured they would be playing this game since it is excatly what we played minus sub and air action. For all I know it may have been a predcessor to this game and games like it. The time period was 1981-83.
They were located in Fenton, Mi.
If anyone knows what I'm talking about just reply to this post.
