Tides of War

OK, I am getting frustrated with this mision. I can handle the Hood escort fleet with out a problem. I then see the Prince Edward sitting still and shooting over the horizon at the Hood. Then out of no where I start getting pounded by the Hood and die, this has happened 4 times. Any tips for this mission???
