I am reinstalling the game to get gold edition and it asks me for my CD ID number. Where is that?!

your CD ID code is your Identification Code (The code you used when you installed Enigma.)

Since I couldn't find it my dad got it off the site. It just says (when u need to enter it) 180-XXX-XXXX (somethingl like that). Sorry, but that doesn't help.

There isnt a key for the Gold Ed.
Gold edition doesn't have a key (it's internal to it). That error means that it's having trouble reading the disk in the drive. Often this is caused by the anti-virus being on when you try to run the game.
You should also be sure to download the newest starforce drivers from star-force.net
