First of all, we at Tides of War hope you like it?

The reason for the change is to keep up with time,, make room for Chapter 2 etc

As you can see you of the forums has been renamed aswell as some new has appeared.

Some of the forums still have old names like "General Topics" this is where you can help.us.

We are looking for names to those forums that hasnt been renamed to "naval aliases",

(Jesper lacks the brainpower to come up with ideas on his own)

In particular the forums that needs new names are

• The catagory "HQ" (the one this forum is in)
• General Topics
• Screenshots
• War Stories
• Jabber Archive
• Future Suggestions
• Allready changed forums needs a new name?

If you for some reason cant read/post/reply in a forum, let me know.

Some posts might be moved around aswell, so if you suddenly cant find a topic, it was likely moved, nothing is being deleted and you can always use Search

I cant decide if the TB-BK forum should be visible or hidden, I think it should be hidden since its not going to be used "for real" untill 2006, but maybe some people wants to ask questions and such, whats is your input? so I make a G.Topics forum in there or hide it?

At first I was a little confused on getting around but I like the changes.

IMHP keeping the two forums visible would be OKAY as per your reasoning.

I concur, at first it was "ah crap, Tides decided on another bad makeover..." then I started navigating and looking the logic (and implementation) and I have to say...nice job. Very well done.

Don't judge too quickly, there are several other changes still coming.... ....

An Enigma skin is to be installed also, it won't be the final skin, but it will help give the user a comfort zone as to 'where' they are in regards to the total board ie what section they are in. Faction sub-sets may also be installed. No timetable, as we have too much to do to get nailed to a schedule..

I won't go on.. some things need to be pleasent surprizes... however there are several "easter eggs' already implanted within the site which may yeild hints... (mums da word).

Firstly, I like the idea of progress, and I'm glad to see movement towards a chapter two "feel".

I'm looking forward to skins, especially a "classic" one so those who liked the old layout can keep it.

I do have to say that the Google ads are very distracting. If you do decide to keep those, I guess I'll have to edit my hosts file again.

Other than that, and a few broken images, I'm pretty impressed so far.

Now to look for easter eggs...

Theta, we are glad you like it so far, hopefully everyone else will too.

The google ads is an experiment, but will stay in one form or another, we have to generate some income somewhere.

The reason we are testing them right here in topicviews is that the ads gets better targettet to what the topic is about, instead of just having 1 ad on the front page that always cycles the same 3 boring ads.

Google ads are quite powerful, when the spider has indexed the topic it will place ads specific to what you are reading about, who wants to see ads for flight simulator in a naval forum, or for weight loosing pills in a gaming community

Sometimes.. you just need a place to move things, so you can organize. Its better to have forums open .. then to wait longer for that "perfect final form".

East this is my fault that it is there, I needed to make several sub groups to move the forums around properly, and I had a few ideas about the layout.

It will be changed unless someone has an idea for another "sub forum" next to the Community one, I just didnt have time yet, I am terrible sick these days, home from work, which is not like me, and Todd pushes me in all directions at the same time
