Ok quick question that I have just considered! I play several multiplayer games and use Teamspeak whilst doing so. I was just wondering about the complications of doing this in ERT as I play using voice commands which could lead to some rather interesting situations?

There will be a keybind to mute voice commands for users that uses external voicechat applications.

Now that would be funny, your voice coming over someone else's speakers, causing their ship to cut engines so you could lob one right at him.

I would think you'd just hold down
Tab on your keyboard or s'm while you issue a command, or
Caps Lock to keep it down for a long time if ya ain't talkin to any1. There'd have to be some indicator, if you think you're un-caps lock'd and you start saying "i fired port 1 and it...." (because I know we all talk like that...). Unsure what you meant, Jesper, just being sure if its s'm like ^^^.

I would say that the key that is being mapped (hopefully user defineable) should MUTE voice commands, cause I think that in while in game you be busier shouting commands than chatting with friends.
This will ofcourse only keep you the game from thinking you ordered something while chatting.
Using a headset and the earplug prevents any from shouting commands to your vessel, yes i know that games should be played out loud thru your speakers, but I dont think there is another way to filter out background talk from your commands. Unless you go take it a step further and uses a dual mike headset(with independant mike minijacks) and 2 soundcards.
That way you could point your Speech settings to use mike1 and your amplifer with soundcard1 and set your chat program to use mike2 and earplug with soundcard2.
That way you just had to mute voice commands when you needed to chat and not worry about anyone screming crash dive
*wonders why creative never added extra jacks for headsets on the cards*
Ps, the current mute key is V
