Played a USN surface patrol mission and had an RGN sub selected from the TAC. kept getting a repeated voice response of:

engaging target.....................

engaging target.....................

engaging target.....................

engaging target.....................

engaging target.....................

engaging target.....................

engaging target.....................

engaging target.....................

Might as well have a talking Polly Parrot on my shoulder! Image

Other than disabling voice messages, is there anything else that can be done to make life easier on our ears?

Any plans to somehow inhibit this in the future?

Turn off guns & do 'em urself. You get better aim that way, anyways. Since you're using voice you can navigate your ship that way, and you don't have to worry about hitting torpedoes as long as you say "Take Evasive."

Although if you have multiple guns w/out a gun tower I'm not sure what you would do. Have to ponder on that one...

Also, after you tell your men to fire on a ship, you can select your own ship and they'll keep firing on the other one. Don't know if voice response has a correlation w/ ship selection, but its worth a try.

Since you're using voice
I'm having problems installing the Enigma SAPI. I've got another thread on the subject here under technical support. :(

Well, you can still do it:

s, d, & f are your rudder controls

-s moves rudder left (port) a tad

-d centers it

-f moves rudder right (starboard) a tad

From the helm, open your big tactical map/radar and in the lower leftish corner, click the picture of the ship with arrows. Does the same thing as the 'Take Evasive" command.
