Suppose, say, that, like me, your skill on Surface Warships is lacking in ASW and Torpedo ops. Therefore you wish to improve them. Wouldn't it be nice if you could select, on the fly, what particular task(s) you want to be the O/C of and let the AI run everything else?

that sounds like a good idea , I wouldn't mind having AI man the torpedo tubes when I'm trying to sink those little devils of Torpedo Boats........fast little suckers.

It would be good for people who like using the deck guns manually. A kind of auto-pilot might be good as well. If you could select a friendly target and then select a formation type you could escort ships a lot easier whilst keeping your eyes on the tactical map or scanning the horizon.

Aye, that's what I mean. AI Helmsman, Gunnery Officer, Navigator, etc. in charge of their departments while you control something else.
