Sub Evasion

Howdy Howdy folks, I'm an avid flight sim'er, I bought this game for giggles, and OMG I'm addicted, somethin about bein in a US sub crashin through the waves at 20 knots, then silently drifting into the depths. Excellent job!!!!!
Ok down to business, how to keep my crew out of harms way.
I'm moving in on a target and suddenly I drop to quarter throttle and notice 2 corvettes creeping in on my position, my first thoughts chop throttle, kill engines, dive to 175 meters and wait. Ironically even from 2,000 meters they still know exactly where I'm at........ Crap (splashes)........(Splashes).........(splashes)....couple more numbing seconds and (BOOM) one dead Salmon class sub. I need help with evasion obviously, Can I rig for silent running, can I out maneuver, someone Help a poor Lietenant Junior Grade!!!!
Also, what are some technigues used for Torpedo'ing at a depth below periscope, around 50m, when it's hot and heavy up top, I do know that Fishes can be fired safely from 50m or above.
I would also like to get on yalls teamspeak server, how do I go about hoppin on there with folks?
Thank ya kindly
