Had to use my digital camera to take these. High resolution, slow download (it was a very slow upload through my modem...).

Got two hardbound volumes of a WW1 british newspaper called THE GRAPHIC, and selected a couple of the better images to share. I might post more later. As far as I know, these images are in the public domain due to age, so I hope nobody sues me.

And regarding the first image- I don't feel so bad about my shallow U-boat tactics or the AI DEs anymore.

Its always great to get hold of some of the old sources as they often have pictures not seen in print in recent books. I just picked up two volumes of the Royal Navy at War by Chatterton - all WWII stuff and packed with images and drawings of battle action. I may post some up if this thread develops.

I've got a nice volume of Navy and Army illustrated with issues from Oct 1914 to Jan 1915. There's some nice pictures although i wish i had it for the whole war

I actually have access to a 1941 issue of Jane's Fighting Ships... and a few others from recently after the war and right before, I think. It's always fun to look through those and the current issues and compare the differences.

Just curious- you want me to try to photograph a giant two-pager of a U-boat stalking a merchant, or a cutaway schematic drawing of four different WW1 allied subs next?

Just scanned another batch. Bloody great pain in the ass uploading all these big pictures, so it might be awhile.

Got pics of destroyers, Russian Imperial Navy ships, the submarine chart, and a propaganda painting of a U-boat crew watching helpless british sailors drown.
