Just a quick question that I only thought about the other day when taking part in a tabletop war game based on guadalcanal battle for Savo island. Anyway the main thing that i notice in enigma was that when a ship takes damage it is very artificial in that it never lists to one side, or loses rudder control etc until she is right out of hit points and then sinks.

I know this is move more towards realism, but surely some extra damage effects could be added and maybe even dam age control parties.

Damage is one of the next major things we will be modelling in the game. It is lacking and we know it. It has always been a part of the design plans.

I still like seeing the chunks of metal fly off when a ship is hit by a torpedo...I guess I'm just easy to please :D But more eye candy would be a definate plus!

Hell yeah, then you could watch as the splinters from the deck fly around, chopping crew members down to bloody stumps while confusion and chaos insues while a fire ignites a shell on its way to the breach. Then as the front of your ship twists and bulges, rivets pop and railings snap as the explosion envelopes the whole fore section of the ship, bodies flying and water splashing  Now that would be some awesome effects. (Challenges East) buxton:

L A G, and it would put the rating up to 18 or more but it would be cool but maybe no blood

I am not worried about people in this I want to see a hole where a shell has pierced the armour or deck of a ship.

Is it me, or was the damage modelling more visible (in terms of bits flying around) in the UK patch A than it was in UK patch B huh:

Either way more accurate damage modelling would be superb :)

What I would like to see is after a painful battering the ship loses 2 5inch mounts as they explode and crash into the water then a 15 inch lands right at the base of the superstructure and it collaspes part of it into the water the other part crashes to the deck exploding.
