Tides of War

I was on routine Patrol in my Schnellboot under orders to seek out and destroy all enemy vessels. The crew was hoping for a fat target (tanker or merchant). Suddenly, we came upon two U.S. PT boats (not at all what we expected). We immediately went to flank speed hoping to surprise them while they were still in a close formation. We came bearing down on their starboard side. I held back my gunner who was itching to let loose. We surprised the forward Boat and rammed her and let fly one torp. She went down burning. The second PT Boat broke off and ran. I unleashed my Gunner and I spun my Schnellboot around and pursued. I still had one fish with her name on it. With guns blazing I took chase. It looked more like a Dogfight than a Sea battle. The PT Boat went hard to port to come around on me and I answered with the same move. Now I was headed straight for her port side and just feet away I prepared to take my shot but the PT Boat cut hard to Starboard and tried to shake me. I stayed just feet off her transom as she zig zagged across the water. I waited patiently for the right shot. My patients paid off when the U.S. boat turned hard again and I slammed into her starboard side and released my second Fish and she went down burning. My Schnellboot went back to Home Port for minor repairs and my Crew went on a well-deserved drinking binge.

OK so I cheated??. It still was fun!

I was sitting next to East watching him (on his Monitor) fire torps at my good friend Engineroomwrench?s Destroyer with impunity. His first spread over shot the Destroyer. Wrench did not seem to evade. Had my good friend not spotted this sneaky Bottom Dweller? Wrench must be engaged with another vessel and had not noticed. I watched East (Looking at his monitor not mine) follow Wrench in his tactical scope and discussing his next firing solution while waiting for his torps to load. Wrench still had not engaged or changed course. I knew something had to be done! I jumped into my Schnellboot and let out for East?s Coordinates. Would I make it in time?

It was just as I thought Wrench was engaged in a bloody Battle and East was going to take advantage of it! I picked East up on Radar and came in from behind while he was in the last stages of lining up on Wrench. I ran over him at full speed dropped my cans and went Hard to port. The cans hit their target but not until after East let loose his flawless spead of fish on Wrench. We managed to pick up a few Survivors and most of the beer from Wrenches DD before She went down. That kill... I had to chalk up to revenge and good Intel.

P.S. sitting next to your opponent is not recommended but I just couldn?t resist. buxton:

Nicely told story of the action though - almost a contender for the fan fiction

... Dont make me tear my eyes out Argon. I want to play a multiplayer version of Enigma so bad! Oh well. I just discovered a way to sneak off with a copy of Enigma(I mean that in a paying kind of way) soon, so that might be able to slake my lust for a while.
