I played to Hood and i discover a big decetipon. His agility.

It's imposible that a war ship had his agility. Not her speed , the agility do you need halft Atlantic for made a turn.

If this is his real agility,I believe that his was sunk by Bismark.

If all big ships ,(BBs, aircarries, heavy cruisers etc.) have the same problem its imposible that we can play.

Please revise the BBs. They can make a turns more quik

ok it's not a bbs ,but he is the Hiryu, he go to emergency march and he can turn very quick. The Hood of the game can't make this opertion, and reality he could make.

the Hood was a Royal Navy BC not a BB (a common mistake on the board here) she was built for speed, agility and firepower, she was out-of-date by 1930 and the Bismarck was as modern and dangerous as you could get!

Hood lasted 3 minutes against Bismarck, there was no competition in that fight. Her thin armour (compared to Bismarcks) and low tech resulted in a great ship going to the bottom...

I'm sure if you try the German BB's you'll notice they are slower and not as maneuverable but they can deal out some serious damage and take some too!

Alas the Hood was the fleets grand ship and in her day she was, but WW2 came along she was too long in the tooth

However I watched a show on teh Discovery chan, they tried to work out what happened and it seems that one shell on a very good angle hit her amidships and penetrated to one of the ammo bunkers, which set up a chain reaction through out the whole ship, due to a lack of bulkheads designed to stop this.

They said that taticaly the Captain was doing all the right things but at the time of the Second (I think it was) salvo he was turning into a position to let go with full broard sides , and thats when teh shell got lucky.

I cant remember what the show was called but it was very interesting, Raising teh Hood? somthing like that I think.

The Hood might as well have been called a BB. She wasn't so fast, but was more lightly armored than other BBs of the day. She was, however, around 42,000 tons and therefore outweighed the vast majority of BBs of the day.

She was constructed before the Washington treaty was signed, and was grandfathered through. Only when this treaty was discarded did the ships (Allied ships anyway) begin to grow again.

Carriers tended to be lighter and far less heavily armored than surface combat vessels... they were easier to turn, although couldn't turn too hard or risk dumping aircraft off the edge of the flight deck and out of the hangers. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Anyway, food for thought. Just in case someone wants to go out and dig up numbers, I'm just running mostly on what I remember and hate to admit that I haven't done enough recent research to be completely firm in this... while I'm sure I'm pretty close, I have been known to be wrong before

Can anyone just tell me: is it only the manner of English and Americans to refer to rifles, ships and ariplanes as "she" or are there similar trends in other languages?
