This particular forum is dormant. Extended Play has been sidelined. We are pressing on with Multiplayer and supporting the Enigma Battlegroups efforts at a Player created missions program.

East - I drop into Battlegroups every now and then and it looks equally dead - is anything moving on giving them single missions?

Actually yes, we are currently finishing up changes to the singleplayer to run the battlegroup missions. The first round of missions should be in testing by the end of next week. Watch for their announcements.

still to late to reply, narrh never, just couple of q`s .
and thoughts ..
has anyone done the sums for the aussie players out there.? given the curent rates its looking quite expensive, and only havin dial up in regional area of oz means measly 2.1ks at the best of times, not much hope in an pitched naval battle, lol when i go off your scope it wont be cause im some deadly sub ace thats for sure. so i suppose the best im hoping for is single player expansions, and really as much as id like to have an commanders account and get all the goddies early, it starts to add up an bit. now i can dig where you guys are at ,you gotta put dough in to get bread out. but for guys like myself who maybe havnt got lots of spare dollars around. but who have made an upfront investment in sp. would we be able to just buy the latest patch cd when it comes out, (when the commanders account would get it). i do feel there is some real competition in the naval sim area begining early on next year, with sh3 and dwaters, and theres only so much market to go around, "the thought was maybe, that dangling that bait an bit more often than not, might just be the clencher that brings in the more of ya average fish. more overly, then landing a big one every now and then.
(hehe, decided to go with ocean analogy there just sort of suited the topic ,plus the weathers been shoot -house and havnt been out all week and the weekends not looking much better, ill have to dig out that old fishing sim ive got in the shed.
cheers anyway east for the last round of patches, i really liked the knew ui. and sub panels.

As a fellow Australian the $$ issue is not a question of "how to afford" but more so prioritising. It's your disposable income and it's earmarked as you see fit. I really don;t think the prices on the USA-AU conversation are that bad.
As for regional dial up, again, that's improving. I played IW on 2.1ks from Central Victoria and FNQ and had no problems. Same again also for a more graphically demanding game like SH2.
Problems are opportunities and how you deal with them shows what's important to you. IMO.

So, just to confirm, all that commander and ensign and account gloop has sunk (or been hit with a few fish, at least), and you are moving straight to MP?
In which case, how much is the MP fee going to be, or will it still be the commander-ensign-account gloompf? I need to plan accordingly...
I understand if its going to be insanely high, only 20 or so people have prolly bought ERT in the past few months; you guys need the money.
That said, I'd like two chances to try out MP: Once in the begginning, when there are thousands of people on, using my CD key, to check the lag and the general play overall, and once in five years if I lay off for a bit and lose my subsciption, to come back and see how the lag is with fewer players and how the gameplay is. Perhaps I can split my free trial into two 2 week trails?
