Future League Rules

Names:

I always play in events with my real tag visible and i was never thinking about changing event tags to "German_Eagles"_XX or GE_123.

Some squads have to do it and if a future league has a rule that doesn't allow it i`m fine with that.

Numbers:

Minimum numbers in the event should be depend on the active members of a squad and have at least 6 pilots.

Last event against Usha we did have only 6 pilots for first half and 5 for 2nd with loosing 2 several times.

Next event against Waships will be not much better. We have 6 pilots for sure and 2 maybe pilots which doesn't know if they will have time to show up.

Some of the last events we had only 3 or 4 pilots flying, but now a minimum of 8 pilots let me think twice about participating in this league.

It is not fun to play all the time outnumbered in league matches and deliver points to squads they will loose if we play with the same amount of pilots.

Recruiting?

What i doesn't understand is the recruiting policy of some squads.

Having nearly 20 members doesn't make much sense if other squads does have only 12. It is clear that some of this 20 pilots will not play in any event.

Forming with this pilots new squads will be much better for the game than recruiting up to nearly 30 pilots

Take a look at Usha, FD and BSS. With this many pilots i can form 5 squads and not only 3.

Having a club which provide some help in forming a new squad, creating a page or hosting a board maybe ensure a brighter future for the game. Having nearly 20 members or more in the squad list while others have 12, isn't bright at all and hurt the game more as it helps.

Yes,USHA has many pilots. But the majority of USHA have been with this squad since the Zone with the exception of maybe 3 or 4.

Some took time off and eventually came back.

We may in the near future have 2 USHA squads instead of one so all can fly matches.

But thats another topic all together. It's always hard on me to say who flies and who don't.I want all my pilots to fly but there are too many USHA to do that.SO sometimes I have to make hard choices as to how many we need to make a good effort in competitions to win. There is no easy answer to this situation. But We will always play within the rules. If the rules change we will abide.

Temp,

You got to be kiddin on your answeres to those quotes,

1. You solicited us to strengthen your Squad for competition purposes and competition is all about winning, isn't it? Who u kiddin not for public reading.:)

2. We are all adults, If that's the case then in competition there is so much frenzy going on you can't single out one flyer to take him out and tags dont mean a thing as long as that pilot is registered to fly with that Squad, yeah, we are all adults here with a little twist.

3. Wont touch it cause it got thrown in the mix but still got thrown in but we are all adults:)

4. Don't put words in my mouth cause u didn't have to look in that mirror, I said SOME, so I didn't cut you at all, look at your knuckles. they got hair on them? You not good for the game, give me a break but we are adults here.

With all this BS that has been posted about Competition between Squads it seems to me that there shouldn't be any competition but rather all FUN events with Squads that way you can have your even playing field as stated, results wont matter.

Hide behind match tags, Seems to me Officers out in the field took there bars and stars off so they wouldn't get sniped WTF is different in this Competition even if it's a game, oops, Maybe it's Human Nature overtaking It's just a game chit.

This is a waste of time, Tulla claims rules can be changed behind the scenes and Squads live with it, he's right and Squads also do not have to compete in these competitions if they choose not to.

As far as how many pilots enter a match and some sit for the tactical win, it's the Officers of that Squads decision and I do know that if it is that important to win that match by putting your best foward then so be it, it's for the win, it's called Competition not a Fun event and a Squad member understands it that way.

This is all I will ever say about this topic again, this topic should have never been brought up in the middle of a Match Cycle.

Hi guys,

Picked up the topic from UKAA...most interesting.

My thoughts as X/O of Elite probably the very best AA squadron of it's time.

Pilot tags, if you don't know who to target in a match, you deserve to lose. Who's who is available is it not?

Does everyone fly round like sheep in a big herd until it's time to engage the enemy? Assign X to target Y !

Neutralise the effectiveness of the best players, they shouldn't need to change tags to accomodate sloppy tactics and lazy players.

---

Am I to understand that people are flying with say 9 pilots as GE? then dropping to 6 for GB forcing the opposition to fly with equal numbers as GE? That has to be the biggest and nastiest rule ever invented.

If your going to keep that and I wouldn't then handicap it. If you start with 9 as GE and then goto 6 for GB give the opponents a 30% increase in ratio !

Hope I've read all this right. I'm sure Temper will be along to correct me if I got it wrong !

Cheers

Nip

Muahahaaahhahahhaaaaahahhahaaaa

You got to be kidding me.

Setup a fun event, call it than event and say you did win against a squad where nearly 50% of there members didn't participate ?

You know Infernal Agony will beat you. I showed them all the time in open teams how nice they can burn with there Spitfires at 30K.

Maybe you remember the pain to have an Armageddon in sight.

Thats why Maxi did such a setup. Only to be with her stupid friend in the "Best squad ever".

Telling us it will be for fun and hear proudly that most of us have a RL and wont give up time for a unimportant funevent.

334th did feel how funny it is to fly against a full Infernal Agony team. Elite never did.

Nip, I think you got the gist of it. Remember, I started this thread to speak to the fun of playing matches, not tactics. I also stated, several times, that we were discussing possible changes for future matches, not the current League. That seems to have escaped some people.

Hawk, I think you missed my meaning on several points, but since you will no longer respond there is no need for me to try to explain myself better.

Anyhoo, what better time to discuss possible rule changes? It's not like -[Terror]-, or myself, are too busy playing in the UKAA 2 Squad League. Image

Back to the topic.

I like what Bateleur said, though it was rather a general view, than a personal opinion. Very diplomatic indeed. :)

One argument in favour for match-tags, which repeats is: ?Match-tags should be allowed, as long as they?re listed?.

Now I will do with the general tone: ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?

On one hand you want to have lesser and simplier rules and on the other hand you want to create a rule which say?s that match-tags have to be listed, so everyone can look them up , learn and recite them ?

I?d like to compare this to any other competition in RL, let?s say american football:

You?re going to a superbowl - match to watch your favourite team winning. Of course you have heroes/ idols but you can?t see them. They?re using ?match-tags? (lmao) How sad from the spectators point of view. You need to get yourself a list of match-tags at the entrance and need to be able to learn them within 10 minutes before the game starts, otherwise you wont know who is who. You wont know who?s the quarterback and you wont know who did that amazing touchdown.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?

But that?s not all:

...... you got that list of match-tags at the entrance and you?re learning very fast. You?re clever hehe. You now know at least that the quarterback is called ?Minnesota Vikings_ 911payback? but unfortunately there is only space for 10 chars on the back of the player jerseys. All you can read there is ?Minnesota ? and this on the back of each player of the team. So I was in trouble to get me that damn list of match-tags, managed to learn them within 10 minutes and still don?t know who is who ?

I WANT MY MONEY BACK

ARE YOU KIDDING ME ???

Sorry but the argument: ?Match-tags should be allowed, as long as they?re listed?. ....is the biggest BS I?ve ever read.

Hi guys, I finally managed to register. It appears this forum doesn't like the '@airattack.co.uk' e-mail which strikes me as ironic ;) . Anyway, there are loads of great (and not so great) opinions / suggestions in this thread which I may or may not get round to commenting on when I have a bit more time but I do have a suggestion that might help.

I think we can all agree on the below 2 points.....?

1) Currently the rules can penalise the squad with the most pilots in that they have succeeded in getting a good turn out only for several of their pilots to have to sit out or just fly one half.

2) Secondly there is the issue of artificially limiting the numbers who fly either to gain a tactical advantage for GB, or simply because a squad doesn't have the 'strength in depth' of the opposition.

My idea is to allow the team with the most pilots to fly with ONE more pilot than the opposition. This will reward the squad who brings the most players and discourage anyone from limiting numbers as they would end up one pilot down. It is a compromise I know but I think it would help.

Thoughts?

Does that mean a team with 10 pilots in the arena can use 7 pilots, while a team which has only 6 pilots in the arena is punished because it has only 6 available ?
