It certainly is useful. For example, a destroyer is being pursued by an enemy DE. keeping pace with the DE's speed while out of its firing range but within the DDs range makes for an efficient kill.

On the voice commands, I'd like to have the ability to give course headings off the bow. For example "Heading to port 10" to give you a course of 260 degrees if you were heading due West when you issued it.

Yep, was wanting something like that as soon as I started playing, either that or a hud with JUST compass heading at the top of the screen so I could "come right to XXX" more easily. The voice recognition works great for me with a cheap headset.

The "bridge" command was one I was wanting also. Would be nice to hear replies like "maneuvering answers all ahead flank" yada yada yada for immersion purposes instead of text.

em2nought I think somebody has set up a voice set if you are playing the Germans. It can be d/l ed from the main d/l forum.

emm....i have printed out the Operations Manual on the Gold CD (pdf). The voice control chapter (VIII) is that what you mean?

....if so is there anything more comprehesive or is that sufficiant. I been using keyboard for so long im finding it hard to convert....
