We are right now evaluating the response to the dispatch and poll. This will determine the time frame. As soon as this month and as late as never. It largely depends on the participation. We sent out 3300 emails to registered players. Hoping voter turnout increases.

We will keep the status posted for you.

Thanks to the USS Monterey for supporting my action ,in drawing attention to fact that the Dispatch was not recieved by all , and not due to ' spam filtering' leastways , unproven !

.

I like very much that phrase ' or as late as never ' , I will remember it for use when necessity requires !

.

Salient questions from Cpt.Maxim , I look forward to replies on those .

.

Thanks Torgen , now we know where to look !

.

Cpt. Harlock , I believe the Multiplayer Key for the 30 days , applies only to the USA version , and somewhere on the forum , is discussion about this ; The essential is , that , if you don't have that key , it will not be a problem , there is some other method of obtaining the 30 days , as I remember . Probably someone will give more accurate answer than I can on this ...or insert a link to it ..Yellowstain often does that stuff ....I don't know how to !

Just read the warfleet page ..

Why not EP ... XP might be confused with Windows ?

.

Questions include the mentioning of certain updates , monthly , quarterly.

The size of ALL downloads .

Presumably the monthy ones will be not of such size as to be problematic , yes , no ?

How big ?

.

The quarterly ones , presumably larger , in which case a CD of those would be a lot easier . but... the shipping costs . and I have use a USA version , but live outside .

How would that be ?

.

A download from a CD , has two advantages from the point if view of some ; Apart from the ease of downloading , it saves losing it when , the recovery disc might be needed to restore the whole Windows , or, when one for whatever reason needs / wants to use a different computer . Thus making a whole re-downloading time and all the rest unnecessary .

I am not any kind of expert at computering , and I am sure many are not , and have only dial - up too, so if downloads are limited size , and CDs are available somehow for the larger things , it would be possible . Otherwise a hassle , and I would not attempt it.

.

Finally , could there be some way of players obtaining the latest and most complete " patches" etc , gold or whatever , by mail . Mention WAS made on this , at warfleet - but - only as one of the additional benefits when one signs up as commander -

Why not for all players , who simply want to play the game with the latest full additions to it , some means of purchasing the latest ,bona fide, fullest , Tesseraction- approved CD , or whatever . ?

.

If I feel that it will not lead to too many more complications , I would sign up for the whole thing . I think things need to be kept simpler whenever possible , life already has enough complexities !

Purchasing the game gives you 30-days free MP. Unless a policy has changed from the last time I looked at the back of my game box ... Aside from the current timetable :D

Open ended questions for discussion..
What if a person joins commander level in January, and another player

joins commander level in May, will the 2nd commander be able to download all

the previous ships retroactive?

If the first commander has been paying for 3 months before other players

that join in April/May, will his XP be the defining factor who gets to use

those ships?
XP member site access; A members only location for in-game events,
downloads, etc.
Will having a XP member site seriously degrade the flow of news, support,

announcements, & free message chatter that needs to show the public how well

the game is doing, and whether it is still alive & active while the members attention is diverted away from public forums?

Since the XP site is considered "members only" when will the public be

informed that they also have something to look forward to in Multiplay...

will they get to see screenshots of Extended Play and "new ships" a certain

time/few months after the "members only" have been able to use them?
* January vs May: Probably yes, in order for them to participate they would need the most current versions.

* I think you are referring to XP as experience points: NO. Seniority will. If you have been a commander longer (and been participating) and they are an equal or lower rank than you, then your seniority will be the defining difference.

* The XP site: It shouldn't degrade the other information flow, in fact it should provide for additional discussions. We will be posting updates on the forums and Warfleet website about contests, promotions, etc. The difference is they won't be able to actively check out the stats, read mission reports (or whatever), etc. unless they are an account holder.

* YES. Longer answer is we will of course be always promoting and informing about what is going on, what is changing and what is coming.
