Cheers Bux, but are those last four lines in the code specific to Enigma or more general system entries - and what, if anything, do they actually do ??

They are Windows System Fonts.
Last time i had to edit the system.ini file was back on Win95.

So if they are just Windows system fonts how come they affected ERT so badly for Reece ?? Just seems a totally off-the-wall and random solution to me. I'm just curious as I never managed to solve the stuttering when I had the original version of ERT (everything works fine with the Gold version though on the same PC).

Maybe the game uses one of the fonts, and it's corrupted? That's the only thing I can think of.

Could not jump up as my D4400 only has 250w power supply. So . . got ASUS V9400 with MX4000. Is that gonna do the job??

Was stating that I'm in the kornfusion of upgrading video on my Dell Demension 4400 from the above thread. Questioning the purchase of the above vidcard and it's usefulness with ERT
What say ye?

Got everyting working and it seems to work much better. Now I need to confirm my sound drivers. Anyone got a clue what that process is? What ever happend to the good old DOS boot disk days ??
