Quote from Skilz_Mcmaster:
First off:
1) I got the impression that the Hood was far superior then it's real life counterpart (Upgrades/Japanese Influence) because every faction seems to fear it and it's destructive powers and it can certainly take far more punishment then the real life Hood so prehaps that can be worked into the storyline somehow
The Hood is called a battleship, but in reality it is more of a battlecruiser, or commerce raider. It carried heavy guns to deal with threats quickly, but had thin armor to keep it fast so it could outrun pursuers and intercept enemy convoys. Also, its tonnage was limited by the Washington Naval Treaty.

Then the Hood should have never have been built, because that's the reason it was built!

The Hood was compleated at John Browns Clydebank in October 1918 long before the Washington Treaty (1922) took effect

In our case it was completed a little bit earlier and used to evacuate the royal family from England. Final buildouts were complete in Sydney followed by a refit at Hong Kong (and Sydney) that included deck armor and enhanced armor belts around critical areas.

Still, what happened to the Kirishima? And the other big Japanese battleships? Did they just
dissapear?
By the way,
www.warfleet.net needs to be updated- half the stuff on there just says "CLASSIFIED INFORMATION"

Well unfortunately I got a Trojan , had to reinstall Windows so i lost my saves
and the patch for enigma, but before this I was cruising around in command of
the HOOD. Let me tell you, her armor might have been weak in some points, but
from what I noticed in command of her she was the Mightiest ship on the seas.
Her radar controlled 15" guns were just amazing. Her what 15 5" guns unleased
a salvo from hell, and her radar assisted AA defense was just AMAZING.
Depending on the luck of the dice, I would put her up against any ship, even the
Bizmark, or the Japanese Super battleship with its 18" guns.
Of course this is just my opinion, but the Hood is Definitely a force to be reckoned
with.

The Kirishima was sunk during a night battle north-west of Savo Island in the Solomons. Mushimo(sic) sunk while in sea trials, and Yamato sank 100 miles south of Okinawa.
