Image Wish I could go... But the US is just too far for me right now. But that Imperial War Museum idea sounds promising!

Would definately support an event in the UK - another good venue might be the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich, London. After which we could all go and try out the AA guns on HMS Belfast In fact if Commodore Rob could wangle it with his bosses at the Imperial War Museum we could hold the whole show on HMS Belfast - now how much fun would that be :D

London would be OK, the US is a bit too far out for me, too.

Would love to have a venue on the Belfast. Helped sinking the Scharnhorst btw. That ship saw some action indeed.

next year is also a massive year in naval circles, with the 200th annivesary of Trafalgar and the 2005 international festival of the sea taking place so if TAG are looking for a european venue for an Enigmacon then they had better hurry up.

I have just had a good morning on board HMS Belfast, I do Love my Job :)

Yes I am Acting Museum Archivist for the IWM, which means although I am based in Lambeth Rd I have to go to HMS Belfast, IWM Duxford, IWM North (Manchester) and Also the Cabinet War rooms. My office is right at the front of the Museum above the enterance and I look out over the Naval Guns :)

Wow, nice job. I've had some flower class corvette photos from the IWM photo archive, great service. So do you reckon there is any chance of Enigmacon being able to book a day on Belfast if the IWM allow that sort of event ?

Wow. Drool.

You pay a lot for that job?

Maybe East should have a word. London's certainly not a bad place. Although some central landlubber place like Frankfurt (am Main, to compensate) will be the more probable outcome, what with the upcoming Kraut version. They will eat that game...

I think it may be possible to hold an event at the the IWM as there is more space then on belfast.

As to oit being In London well I have soome experience of helping to organise similar events, as for the past three years I have got a group from the Age of Sail community to attend a Naval War gaming event in Portsmouth and that has had a good german turn out those guys are more then happy to travel over to the Uk especially as the event is held at the RN Museum in Portsmouth.
