C0ldfire do you mean the distance so you can fly around instead of above? I dont think the AA have that kind of loophole in them. From what I have experianced, if 1 AA gun can hit you, they all can. On the map and on the ground you can see a slight change in color of the terrain around the airbase. If you go into that area you will be hit by AA. Just dont fly into that area or if you are gonna fly above the airbase, I wouldnt go under 2500ft-3000ft because pilots taking off the runway will be able to nose up and shoot you while staying in their AA.

i think what TG is saying, or trying to say, is this:

someone, eg CO or anyone in a position to, should call a point. By this he means a point of airspace where we centre ourselves or an FUP (forming up point)

eg GridSquare aa,34 Cieling ALt 6500ft Hard deck 3000ft or Grid Intersection ac,26:ac:25 Cieling Alt 8000ft Hard deck 3500ft

From there one or two planes, depending on our numbers should assume or be designated as security and assume a pattern around this point in the air,THIS MEANS THEY DO NOT BOOM AND ZOOM, but monitor the area below and call in targets to others. Once we have them under the hammer we can then alternate who goes in and i would suggest that two go in and one attacks while the other (WINGMAN) covers the others butt and only engages if the opportunity arrises without compromising the security of his wing man or himself
