BF1942 is a great game. Everquest is another story.

Anyway, I to would like an excuse to give money to TAG. Don't have the money to buy Gold (when with the patch I have it anyway) but chapter 2 should have enough new content to make it worthwhile.

If we could have talked the publishers into getting the retailers into keeping the original product at full price, everthing would have been an add-on. As it sits now Chapter 2 will be a new product. We MAY release an Add-On for Chapter 1 Gold...may...

If your adding a dedicated server into the pack then I doubt anyone will complain about it being full price. Those of us who purchased pre-gold editions have already gotten more than our money's worth.

Yessum... I understand its a "new product"... but expansions can add a new storyline... I guess what I'm asking is... is it a new game, or an expansion. New game... not new product, almost everything is a new prodcut...

It will not be an expansion pack. You will not need chapter 1 to play chapter 2.

IIRC, ( and this may have changed,) Chapter 2 will continue the storyline after the US sneak attack on Scapa Flow (and the LFN sneak attack on BOTH the US and IGN.)

When I stated above, that the chapter 2 would be a new product (sequel), I was thinking more or less of a continuation of Chapter 1.. but after seeing the above replies, I did notice a more appropriate definition taking shape.

A. ) If the Chapter 2 uses a new core 3D modeling engine (programming language, visual capabilities, AI learning ability etc), it would be considered a "new" product..

B. ) If it was an expansion pack, it would probably require the original version in order to play it.. probably with a message to insert original cd..

C. ) If it is a standalone product that appears to take off where the previous story ended, using only minor modifications, probably with some bug fixes included, then it would be more along the lines of a sequel.. a chapter2.

I tend to believe it will be C., unless they make some sort of announcement that it might include all of A B & C.. in which case it would be a newly produced expansion product with minor bug fixes added. And why is this possible? Because Enigma Rising Tide says it best, "it's a different world".
