FYI 99.99% of the time the problem is with a system that has out of date drivers, not enough swap space allocated and often is completely choked with Spyware, and they leave their anti-virus running when installing and playing.

Reece's issue was one of 2 exceptions to this rule that we've had in the last 18 months.

All my drivers are up to date. I checked for an hour on every freakin one. So your saying my norton would stop this game from playing??

What kinda patch is this? No game should be this difficult to set up.

Send a DXDiag report, we'll check it out. If everything is as you say and you are still having trouble, we'll setup a duplicate machine here and troubleshoot it directly. We'll need the report however.

I've heard of Norton screwing up more than one game. I've been damned lucky to either hear about it ahead of time before installing (so I could turn it off), or just not have that problem. I also run Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy every week, and block popups (some of which can install crap without you knowing it.)
