Submarines are easier, surface more fun. My favorite ship are the battleships, but they have no ASW capabilitity and are easy to sink with a sub. It's next to impossible to sink a normal human player with depth charges- you have to hit in the right place at the right time in a huge ocean. And if you get close enough to do it, you'll get torpedoed.

I prefer surface. the most importan ships are surface and in the wwII the subs couldn't saty eternity in the sub. One day they need go out and I'm sating here wating that she go out her noise and beat her.

Surface you need balls to be a surface commander;) skulking aint my cup of tea:)

You surface commanders can say it's all too easy, but it does take a certain sneaky sort of person to lurk the depths and brave the pressure.

And at least when I dive, I can surface again. Can't say the same for all the other boats!

i'm a little of both. i like the ease of surface campaigns, and dcing a sub, but like the anonymity(sp?) and relative safety(no air attacks or dodging 2000 ib. shells) of sub warfare? in sub warfare, it's so easy to sink a destroyer, and watch as all 4 torpedoes explode into it.

downsides: unfortunately, it takes much too long to reload the torps.

have to worry about dc, and it's almost impossible to survive through it.

submarines are easy to command with comparing them

with surface, espesially with destroyers.

you have to be more mustered to survive in battle

on capital ship........

I prefer submarines, but just because i can?t work with those damn depth charges. I don?t make it against Subs -.- Actually I also think that sub is fun, but surface is much more action enigma!:
