Captains, we’re all feeling the crush of being at home right now. We
want to accomplish something – something big, and meaningful, but it’s
hard while you’re inside. While we can’t help you write that novel or
change the world, we can help you complete those reputations you’ve been
staring longingly at. So we’re starting a special event right now!
For the next three weeks, starting Thursday, March 26th at 8AM PT to Thursday, April 16th at 10AM PT, we are running a special event where Captains can earn bonus Marks by playing content throughout the game!
During the event, content that provides Marks (Fleet or Reputation)
will reward a 50% (1.5x) bonus above normal amounts – this bonus is
available for all content that rewards Marks, including the three new
reputations that came to Console with Agents of Yesterday. Start
building your Fleet projects and reputations!
We hope you enjoy this special event, stay safe, and we’ll see you in-game!
Resolved an issue that would sometimes cause item names to not appear in various stores.
Duty Officer Pack Updates:
Removed the Reinforcements pack from the Duty Officer tab
Changed the price of the Gamma, Delta, Romulan, and Fleet Duty Officer Packs to 300 ZEN
Added an Uncommon and Rare Duty Officer to each of the 4 themed packs mentioned above so they give out 4 common, 3 uncommon, and 1 rare along with their bonus item.
These have a chance for a higher quality so you should never see more than 4 common and you should always get 9 Duty Officers total.
Moved the bonus prize in the Gamma pack of 4 fleet modules out and replaced it with the Tuffli Class Freighter.
Removed the 4 Fleet Module Rewards from the Delta Pack which increases the chance at winning the traits as a bonus reward.
Created a Duty Officer bundle which has 1 of each of the 4 themed doff packs in them for a discounted price.
Systems:
Removed the EC cost associated with altering the Name and Registry of player starships.
We’ve doubled our efforts to give Captains the necessary experience to deal with threats to the Galaxy. From Thursday, March 19th at 8AM PT, to Monday, March 23rd at 10AM PT, players will be able to enjoy twice the experience!
During the event, content that provides skill points and expertise will reward a 100% (2x) Bonus above normal amounts – this bonus will be available for all content that rewards skill points and expertise.
Sometimes exploration of new ideas and new technologies leads to dark places. In Star Trek, we’ve seen many a cautionary tale about omniscient supercomputers, time travel, genetic manipulation, and telepathic oppression. The pursuit of knowledge isn’t always safe or pretty.
Hearts and Minds is a mini-mission that explores the consequences of some unconventional research gone awry. This mission is a “story in one act,” so you can easily finish it in a quick play session, and it’s easy to complete it with any additional characters that you may have on your account – which is handy, because the mission offers a special reward.
Since Hearts and Minds is a horror story, it will only be around for Friday the 13th, whenever that may fall on the calendar – and perhaps another sufficiently horrifying day that we might choose! Fortunately for the squeamish, Hearts and Minds is creepy, but not graphically gruesome.
After all, what you can imagine is sometimes more horrific than anything you can be shown.
Hearts and Minds takes place in the Donatu sector of the Eta Eridani sector block, at a lunar research station in the Donatu system and characters level 11+ can accept this mission. Hail Franklin Drake (Federation officers, Romulans, and Jem’Hadar allied with the Federation) or K’Men (Klingon officers, Romulans, and Jem’Hadar allied with the KDF) to undertake this mission. It is available to play from around 6pm PT March 12th until around 6am PT March 14th.
NOTE: If you have completed the mission before, you will be able to acquire and complete it again to earn another copy of the reward.
We’ve doubled our efforts to give Captains the necessary experience to deal with threats to the Galaxy. From Thursday, February 20th at 8AM PT, to Monday, February 24th at 10AM PT, players will be able to enjoy twice the experience!
During the event, content that provides skill points and expertise will reward a 100% (2x) Bonus above normal amounts – this bonus will be available for all content that rewards skill points and expertise.
From Thursday, February 20th at 8AM PT to Monday, February 24th at 10am PT, we are running a special weekend event where you can earn Bonus Commendation XP by completing any Duty Officer assignments!
To those junior officers who work tirelessly in cramped Jefferies
Tubes, perish namelessly on away missions, or provide the endless
streams of reports and analysis necessary for a starship to function –
this event is dedicated to you!
During this event, you’ll gain a 50% increase in all Commendation XP
earned by completion of Duty Officer assignments. You don’t need to do
anything special for this bonus – it’s automatic.
Receive a FREE* special Purple quality duty officer with a unique
active roster power by speaking with your duty officer contact. For
Starfleet officers and Romulan allies, this is an engineering Exocomp
duty officer; for KDF officers and Romulan allies, it is a Reman duty
officer.
*This is not available if you already claimed it the last time we ran the event.
Duty officer packs** opened during the event will each have a FREE
additional Green quality or better duty officer inside. This only
applies to C-Store purchased packs, not to those awarded during rank-up,
from recruitment assignments or mini-packs. Also, it applies only to
packs opened during the event, even if they are purchased prior to the
event.
**The packs included in this offer are: Delta Alliance Duty
Officer Pack, Gamma Quadrant Duty Officer Cadre, Reinforcements Duty
Officer Pack, Fleet Support Duty Officer Pack, Romulan Survivor Duty
Officer Pack, Fleet Support Duty Officer Pack, Klingon Empire Duty
Officer Pack and Federation Duty Officer Pack.
The Academy particle scanning events are now part of the Junior
Officer Appreciation Event! Visit Starfleet Academy or Klingon Academy
during the event and speak to Professor Meyer or Commander B’Tama. Pick a
cadet to train, then engage in scanning particles all about the academy
grounds. As you scan and capture particles you’ll help to train the
cadet, and in exchange your faction will release a new random Duty
Officer to you. The more particles you scan, the better the quality of
the officer you can claim!
Scan a minimum of 5 traces to be rewarded a Common Duty Officer
Scan a minimum of 25 traces to be rewarded a Uncommon Duty Officer
Scan a minimum of 50 traces to be rewarded a Rare Duty Officer
Scan a minimum of 75 traces to be rewarded a Very Rare Duty Officer
Remember, additional reserve roster duty officer slots (in increments
of 25 and 100) are available from the in-game C-Store, for up to a
maximum of 500 reserve roster spaces.
Have fun, and try not to send too many duty officers to Sickbay!

Our 10th Anniversary is here, and the Legacy begins. Star Trek Online: Legacy
is live right now! Cryptic Studios is over the moon to present our
Tenth Anniversary Celebration to our fans on PC starting today, and on
Xbox One and Playstation 4 March 3rd. We’re excited to share all of the content in Legacy with you, some of which you’ve known about, some of which is brand new.
First up, a brand new, two part episode, The Measure of Morality.
This episode returns Captains to Excalbia, from the Original Series
episode “The Savage Curtain.” The Excalbians have decided to put on
another test of Good and Evil, and your characters will play a major
part in it. But you won’t be alone. Returning to the game for the first
time since Delta Rising, Jeri Ryan portrays a Seven of Nine that’s
different from any we’ve seen before. And for the first time ever,
Sonequa Martin-Green joins the cast to bring Michael Burnham to life!
These episodes are a love letter to the past and future of Star Trek
Online, and we think you’ll love this jaunt down memory lane.
The Anniversary Event also comes with a major prize – the Khitomer
Alliance Battlecruiser. This new ship, the first to combine Federation
and Klingon technology, is a sign of the peace that’s beginning to dawn
across the galaxy. You can earn it by participating in the returning
Omega Molecule Stabilization Event, by playing The Measure of Morality,
or by participating in the brand new Task Force Operation, To Hell With
Honor. Bring your starships to J’Ula’s shipyards on a distant moon, and
battle one of the largest enemies we’ve ever created in the game.
The Borg are a huge part of STO’s history, which is why, for the
anniversary, we’re giving you a chance to assimilate their technology
for your own. The Borg Lock Box offers Hugh’s ship, upgraded for a new
era, as the Borg Juggernaut. It also contains new powers for your
Captain, like the ability to assimilate enemy ships and bend them to
your cause. On top of that, we’re adding a favorite Task Force Operation
of the last few years, The Mycelial Realm to regular TFO rotation, for
you to play any time.
It’s a bold new world out there, Captains. Go out and claim your Legacy.
As Star Trek Online approaches a full decade of expanding on
the Star Trek universe, we are thrilled to once again roll out the
party patrol for our Anniversary Celebration starting on PC on January 28th, 2020 and continuing until February 27th, 2020.
(Console dates will be announced at a later date.)
Now that the Anniversary Event is migrating into our
recently-released Events Tab, participation will be slightly changed
from previous years. The primary change players will see is that all of
the usual activities will contribute toward your Daily Progress in the
Event, eventually earning your way toward the Grand Prize – a Tier 6 Ship!
Keep reading to reveal what activities and prizes await those who join us to celebrate “Anniversary X.”
Event Grand Prize – Alliance Battlecruiser (T6)
As the first ship of its kind, the Khitomer-class Alliance
Battlecruiser represents the culmination of joint research and
development by shipyards across the Federation, Klingon Empire, and
Romulan Republic. Complete details on this cross-faction vessel will be
released in the near future, so stay tuned!
Earning the Alliance Battlecruiser for every character on your
account is as simple as participating in any of the Anniversary Event’s
eligible activities over the course of its run. Within the 30 days that
the Event will be active, players that earn 20 or more Daily Progress
may then claim this fine vessel and sail it into the stars!
Remember that earning additional Daily Progress also grants you
scaling Dilithium Ore bonus rewards, after you have claimed the Grand
Prize!
Players unable to find the time to complete the Event, or interested in rushing to complete their progress, will have the opportunity to purchase the remainder of their Daily Progress using Zen at any time. The base price for this buyout will be discounted based on the amount of Daily Progress you have already accrued.
Omega Molecule Stabilization Game
Q is up to his annual shenanigans. He will once again be rewarding
captains for stabilizing Omega Particles found in various social zones
in Star Trek Online. Talk to Q to get the mission “Omega
Stabilization (Daily)” and you will be given three zones to visit where
you must stabilize an Omega Particle by playing a minigame. The chosen
zones will change periodically, inviting players to explore the vast
expanses of space in order to complete this challenge.
The minigame itself is simple – Omega molecules will fall in from the
left in one of four channels. Captains will move the capture device
into the correct channel as the molecule hits the right-hand line. The
more molecules you capture, the more Omega molecules you’ll safely
dissipate, and the more points you will score.
Q doesn’t care how many points you score, just that you complete the
minigame in order to receive credit for his Daily Mission. Doing so will
grant you Daily Progress if you have not already earned it for the day,
as well as the other standard rewards associated with this Daily
Mission.
The score received from the minigame does influence your rewards,
however! The more points you score, the better chance you have at
scoring better quality Omega particle remnants which can be used with
the R&D system to craft special Omega Particle Tech Upgrades.
Omega Traces come in the three different colors of the Omega nodes
themselves. Using the R&D system you can combine 1 of each Trace
into an Omega Sliver. You can them combine three Omega Slivers into an
Omega Shard, and three Omega Shards into an Omega Fragment. Three Omega
Fragments can then be combined into an Omega Tech Upgrade which costs no
dilithium to apply, and supplies a massive dose of Technology and
Research Points to whatever item it is applied to.
Furthermore, two new crafting options are available:
Two Omega Fragments can be combined with varying amounts of Refined
Dilithium to produce [Mark] and [Rarity] variations of the Omega
Upgrade. These new variants focus entirely on improving item Mark or
Rarity, respectively, making them ideal for players seeking specific
avenues of upgrading their equipment.
Completing the minigame will always score you a single Omega Trace at the very least. The better you score, the greater your chance to win Omega Slivers, Shards, or even Fragments. Beginning with this year’s update, all Omega materials will be changed to Bind-to-Account-on-Pickup, rather than being tradeable with other players. However, refinement techniques have improved since the previous event, so rewards from the minigame will be a bit better, especially for those who score fewer points.
New Party Popper!
It wouldn’t be the anniversary without a brand new Party Popper to earn.
The “Anniversary X” version of our annual toy-device celebrates the past of STO by offering a random assortment of firing modes seen across the years. While this means that the 10th Anniversary Party Popper offers a greater variety, it also offers increased unpredictability about what you will see when it is triggered. Oh, the possibilities!
New Emotes!
The Anniversary Emote Pack will be returning, and can be received by
completing the Omega Stabilization Daily Mission each day during the
Event. The full assortment of Emotes offered in previous years will
remain available, with the following new additions:
During Star Trek Online’s 10th Anniversary event, you will be able to unlock the all new Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser [T6] for all characters on your account!
Once this starship is obtained by any character on your account, all
of the characters on your account will be able to claim the Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser [T6] from the Account Claim tab within the Event Store (in the Event Tab of the Mission Journal).
We are also excited to announce that this starship will be available January 28th on PC, and Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on a later date!
Here are the complete ship details related to this exciting new starship!
Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser [T6]
The Allied Cooperative Starship Development Board (ACSDB) is excited
to announce their first vessel with unified design philosophies. While
the ACSDB has been involved in the later design states of many new
starship designs, this is their first jointly-designed starship built
from the ground up. Its launch is a cause to celebrate – especially a
starship such as this.
The Alliance Battlecruiser has performed exceptionally in all of its
trials, with its command and coordination abilities noted as
exceptionally helpful in larger fleet actions. Its staying power and
offensive capabilities in combat have clearly demonstrated that the
cruiser and battleship expertise that went into the ship’s design has
paid off well. Alliance engineers have noted that the success this
design has achieved so far makes them optimistic for a unified future.
This starship features a Lieutenant Commander Command Specialization seat.
This starship can be used by characters of any level upon completion
of the tutorial experience. As you level up, this ship gains additional
hull, weapon slots, and console slots.
The Alliance Battlecruiser comes equipped with the Aligned Antiproton
Shielding Universal Console. When activated, you gain a temporary boost
to Energy Weapon Haste, Shield Regeneration, and Shield Capacity that
scales up as you get take incoming fire. After that boost ends, or when
you re-activate this ability, your ship will deal significant antiproton
to each nearby foes.
This technology was made possible by combining some unique methods of
distributing shield power automatically into advanced weapon power
distribution grids, and the architects of its design say they “couldn’t
have done it without the Alliance sharing technology together.”
This console also provides a passive boost to Antiproton Damage and
Starship Shield Capacity. It can be equipped in any console slot and
equipped on any ship. You may only equip one of these consoles.
Automated Shield Alignment (Starship Trait)
After achieving level 5 in the Alliance Battlecruiser, you will
unlock the Automated Shield Alignment Starship Trait. While this trait
is slotted, you gain bonus damage based on what percentage of your
shields is missing. When you defeat a foe, you will restore a
substantial portion of your shields.
While comparing ship power level and sensor data with events
occurring in combat, a group of analysts noticed that power can be
diverted from some sub-components of a weakened shield facing for other
systems. As more power in weapons has a correlation with decreasing
shield strain, that was deemed the optimal subsystem to shunt that newly
discovered excess. Then, after the shield systems have cooled down more
from the decreased overall power flow, the power can be shunted back,
to give a significant boost to shield strength. The Alliance
Battlecruiser was designed to make optimal use of this knowledge, but
with more testing they believe it can be used on other ships as well.
NOTE: The above stats and systems are subject to change.
